Orange County Ordinance places a limit of $1700 on the amount of contributions made in an election cycle. Personal, business and corporate contributions are acceptable. A husband and wife may each contribute $1,700 for a total of $3,400. Contributions are not tax deductible for state and federal income tax purposes.
Art, what happens to Nguyen if Mr. Daly decides to stay put – as seems increasingly likely. Do you think he’s still in against an incumbent?
David,
Hugh has assured me that he will take on Daly if he has to.
I think he could beat him…
I believe Hugh Nguyen can beat Tom Daly. We need a change our department sucks. Tom Daly needs to retired or quit.
We all hate coming to work.
Whoever wins I hope will make a major change in the filing of liens. For six bucks anyone can file a lien on your house with no questions asked by recorders office. In a refi, I had to pay a couple thousand bucks to an unknown guy who filed a lien on my house in order for the refi to go thru. Googling this guy, Jeff McCoon shows he has done thousands of these illegal liens and been arrested many times for this. The filing fee should go up to thirty dollars and the clerk should have to notify you if a lien has been placed on your property. And if you say it is invalid the person filing the lien should have thirty days to prove validity or it will not be recorded. Same for lawsuits. People can sue you, never serve you, and win a default judgment against you. The fees should be raised to file a lawsuit to cover the cost for the court to notify you that a suit has been filed against you. With all the crooks out there these two measures are just common sense. Google: Jeff McCoon to see what I am talking about.
