Applications are now available for State Senator Lou Correa’s Young Senators Program.
High School Students in the 34th District (Anaheim, Buena Park, Stanton, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Fullerton, & Westminster) can learn about Senator Correa’s Young Senators Program!
It’s a wonderful program filled with informational seminars about youth empowerment and leadership and community service events that teach our kids about giving back to our community.

looking at the lineup, he should also teach diversity!.
Ridiculous!.
it would be ok if it was a latin country to see this lineup, but not in the USA.
The more segregated the hispanic comunity becomes the more racist they will become. Racism breeds in areas of race segregation and racical advocation on the part of the leaders!.
Its a fact!.
And Santa Ana is a prime example!.
I agree with Ms. Quinn. Lou doesn’t understand that diversity means having a few pale faces working for you as well as the nice selection of young brown faces.
I hope that Lou is not planning on giving a seminar on keeping a pledge to voters of not raising their taxes. Lou received an “F” grade in that course.
Does anyone not get the fact that idiots(and i say this with a heavy heart), because i do not like being mean, are distroying this state with political correct bull shite.
I could not care less if all my senators are brown, i just want brown folk, like Larry Elder who see’s his colour as his shell and not his character, or want definds him!.
Hacks like old lou, just wants little activists to premote himself!. please wake up!.
#4 Ignoramus extraordinaire,
What exactly do you think the ethnic background of the MAJORITY of students applying for this program is?
Did you even bother to go to Senator Correa’s website and look at photo’s of the whole group (of Young Senators) BEFORE you started ACCUSING him of REVERSE RACISM? Let me answer that for you, that would be a resounding NO! Because if you had you would have seen mostly hispanic youths but some Asians and even a few white kids, which is pretty much the demographics of the area.
Oh, but that would make too much sense and Miss Quinn would rather make nasty stuff up in her twisted evil little brain and then vomit it all over the blogosphere.
Your STUPIDITY is beyond comprehension and your contemptible little “I’m a poor Irish lass” act isn’t cute or funny, but you run to hide behind it every time your TRUE UGLY RACIST SELF shines through. UGHH, YOU DISGUST ME!
It sure sounds like Michelle knows first hand that White students were excluded from being selected or even paticipating in the application process.
Sorry Michelle that type of dicrimination happened during my father’s year and the problem with it then was that it was very overt. They told you were not qualified back then and they told you weren’t qualified because your skin wasn’t white enough or that accent was too dirty.
Of course your family benefited from this discrimination and now that the playing field are leveling out(still inbalance)you just assume that because everybody face is brown that there is some sort of reverse discrimination.
Before you spout of your mouth why don’t you check your facts.Check to confirm how many students actually applied and who among those that were not accepted were non-brown.
Perhaps, you feel that we needed some sort of affirmitive action program that reaches out to this underepresentative group even though you sound like you supported Prop 209.
As was the case 20 years ago when there was no hispanic on the Santa Ana city council yet I’m sure your parents fought the council buck tooth and all and demanded a brown skinned fellow in the name of diversity get elected to a seat. Now, that the shoe is on the other foot and its appears but you have no evidence that some “white” is being dicriminated against you are up in arms.
Anonster is the problem Ms. Quinn is talking about. According to him/her, there are just not enough white people left in the state to work for Lou and the other politicos. Last time I checked there were still a pretty healty percentage of Gringos living in the state. Thank you Ms. Quinn for not being afraid of the likes of Anonster. You speak for many of us, the silent minority.
#7 Another idiot racist blowhard,
All the Young Senators MUST come from Senator Correa’s district.
Can’t you DUMB RACISTS even bother to get your basic facts straight before spewing your idiocy?
I live in the District and I know Lou fairly well. I happen to be in the minority in the area, I guess.
But since I am an American 1st I guess I am fine. I am proud of the job The senator is doing to promote education and trying to get people involved in their community and government.
When I and the Senator disagreed on an issue he said “I have to try to best represent the wishes of my district. But please continue to fight for what you believe in, that is what makes us great.”
The main complaint about the Senator that I have heard from the Democrats is that he is too conservative on issues conserning business and law enforsement.
One of the few moderate senators of either party in Sacramento, we could use a few more like him. Perhaps solutions would come out of the place rather than more of the same blame game and gridlock
