Anaheim Councilwoman Lorri Galloway is serious about running for termed out Supervisor Chris Norby’s 4th District seat on the Board of Supervisors.  She announced her upcoming campaign kickoff fundraiser today.

Galloway figures to cut into Orange County Clerk-Recorder Tom Daly’s base in Anaheim.  Daly is also running for the same supervisoral seat.  I am told that Galloway is no fan of Daly.

Whether or not Daly will actually run for Norby’s seat remains to be determined.  In the meantime, Galloway is going for it.  Her fellow Anaheim Councilmember, Harry Sidhu, is also running.  Both Galloway and Sidhu have to establish residences in the 4th District, if they have not yet done so.

Here is Galloway’s press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Lorri Galloway Announces Campaign Kick-Off Fundraiser for 4th District Supervisor Race

Anaheim, CA, September 14, 2009

On Wednesday September 16th, Anaheim City Council member Lorri Galloway announces her campaign run for Orange County Board of Supervisors 4th District seat.

Galloway will be a candidate to replace termed out Supervisor Chris Norby to represent the 4th District on the County Board. “It’s time to bring strong leadership and true representation of the 4th District to the County Board of Supervisors,” Galloway replied when asked for her perspective on the status of the race.

The kick-off event entitled Dancing in the Streets is scheduled to start September 16th at 6pm at 195 Downtown Grill located on 195 W. Center Street Promenade in Anaheim. It will include live entertainment on the north corner of Lemon St. & Center St. at the Promenade in downtown Anaheim as a dance floor for her guests. “My announcements are always unforgettable…with live music and dancing in the streets of Anaheim, you won’t want to miss it,” Galloway explained as she spoke with her supporters.

With Galloway’s successes at the city level, appeal from local working families and strong support from community leaders, the race for 4th District Supervisor will be the most exciting race to watch in Orange County politics.
