Sam Romero called and invited me this morning. I look forward to attending and hearing the community’s views on this important project.
This meeting of community groups is open to all those interested in what is being planned by the City of Santa Ana for the Station District – including residents, property owners and business owners.
Thank you Sean for walking the walk, not just talking the talk like the City Council. God bless Sam Romero for being the eyes and ears of the Logan neighborhood for all these years. If not for Sam, Logan would be one big industrial zoned dump! This is a man who lives on the income from selling Catholic statuary and rosary beads and yet finds time to help his people. Many people may not know that Sam lost a daughter to cancer at a young age. She was a teachers aide and they named a school after her in central Santa Ana. Please thank Sam for all he does from the people whose lives he has made better.
Has Sam ever been recognized by the City?
If not maybe Sean can help with that.
Sam is a board member of OCCHC. He has been recognized over the years but deserves a wider recognition for organizing. Maybe we could raise some funds for OCCCO and have a Good Sam dinner!! I think that Bricken, Young and others might just show up as well as all the neighborhood organizations.

I don’t know Sam Romero
Can we have a Who is Sam Romero article?
Sounds like he is a local hero.
good idea #6, Art…(or maybe Sean knows him better) should do a post on Sam Romero. He’s been in town forever and it would be good for the OJ readers to become familiar with him. Maybe tie it in with a bit of history of the Logan neighborhood, etc. Sam has been and is an important figure in Santa Ana over the past few decades…and continues to be today!
also…can we get a report on how this meeting went last night??? anyone???
