You just can’t make this stuff up…more evidence that the GOP is imploding:
A Republican congresswoman from Kansas is issuing a great big apology for saying the GOP is searching for a “great white hope” to stop President Obama‘s policy agenda.
Rep. Lynn Jenkins “apologizes if her words have offended anyone,” her spokesman, Mary Geiger, said. “That was not the intent in any way, shape or form.”
During an Aug. 19 forum, Jenkins attempted to reassure the crowd that that the Republican Party has promising young leaders.
“Republicans are struggling right now to find the great white hope,” Jenkins, who is white, said. “I suggest to any of you who are concerned about that, who are Republican, there are some great young Republican minds in Washington.”

Amazing. How many Republicans agree with Jenkins? Too many I think. And there is no way she did not know the meaning of her words! She got caught and had to backpedal…

Great one, you know I’m an independent and so I’m not here to attack one side and defend the other. But I have noticed that the excuse you used above came right out of the Sean Hannity handbook. When you can’t defend one of your own, what you do is bring up a similar case that someone on the other side did and then blame the media. Has if ever crossed your mind that both Donna Braziel and Lynn Jenkins were wrong??
Lastly, I just don’t get this whining and crying from the right about the liberal media. It didn’t make sense to me 20 years ago, and more than ever now, it doesn’t make any sense. Stop whining and blaming others for your action, like a bunch of liberals.

The point here is that Jenkins directly stated that the GOP is actively working on replacing a black president with a yet not found more popular than Obama white candidate. This is to gather support from those that despise the election of a black president. She was addressing this crowd and was made public outside that group.
This supports that comment about the Republican Party being a party of white boys, does it not?

Jenkins was not attacking Obama policies, she was addressing his race. Replace black with white. I think that is racist.

Are you defending what Jenkins said? Please answer without posting an example of a liberal saying the same thing. That is irrelevant, not significant and nothing but spin.
As a parent in your household you would not tolerate one child doing somewthing wrong with a defense from that child that his sibling did it too so there should be no consequences. Would you?

I respect your position on the Jenkins comment. I can not make a judgment on the general standard issue you present. Point them out for debate when you spot them. There should be no differences. All political parties should have equal responsibilities.
Having said that , being held to a higher standard is not necessarily bad on it’s self. It denotes higher responsibility. I would embrace it.
A professional is held to a higher standard than a non professional. A parent is held to a higher standard than a child. A political leader is held to a higher standard than a regular citizen and so on.
So far in President Obama’s presidency how many bills has he vetoed ? None? (I don’t know)
Bush couldn’t stand up to congress, so far neither has his replacement.
