Is Chris Norby too distracted by his new, fourth wife and three new stepchildren to focus on his Clerk-Recorder campaign?

Anon blogger “Tomahawk” had this to say in a post over at Red County about Chris Norby’s fundraising for his campaign for Orange County Clerk-Recorder, ”
Using the influence of his current office, Supervisor Chris Norby raised nearly $80,000 within the first 6 months of this year and also loaned his campaign an additional $60,000, making his total contribution for this cycle: $139,000. The Norby campaign spent roughly $14,000 and is left with a cash on hand of $125,000. This is good, it shows a campaign that is frugal and lean.”
Let’s take a closer look at those numbers…
It may seem like Norby had a strong showing. However, after reviewing the specifics of his report I found otherwise. If you subtract the $60,000 loan from the $139,000 reported, he actually raised from donors $79,000, and out of that $27,000 was a transfer from his Supervisorial account. So in reality he actually raised in new money for the Clerk Recorder race only $52,000. Considering his supposed “front runner” status this is not impressive at all!
In addition, he is showing $125,000 cash on hand (he spent a whopping $14,000 with nearly a year before the election). Included in that number is the $60,000 loan to the campaign. Considering that Norby is not a wealthy man, we would be very surprised if that money is ever spent. So in reality he has $65,000 cash on hand.
And Norby just got married, for the fourth time, to a woman with three little kids. My guess is that Norby is going nuts at home and most likely is NOT in campaign mode whatsoever.
I still think that former Deputy Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen will beat Norby as an underdog, the way Norby once beat Supervisor Cynthia Coad as an underdog…
*How much is “name recognition” worth? How much is being a currently re-elected Supervisor worth? How much is his new wife….bringing to the election? How much will he need against Huge or who?
It’s time for the taxpayer to vote for someone who is qualify to do the job. Chris Norby and Art Brown are just looking for a job. They have zero experience, unlike Mr. Nguyen.
I believe that Mr.Nguyen has more experience than Tom Daly.
The voters in Orange County needs to wake up and vote for someone with experience like Mr. Nguyen. Don’t vote for these elected official who do not have any experience.

It doesn’t matter how much money Mr.Norby raises, I still would not vote for him. We as citizens vote and elect these idiot for the wrong reason.
He is not qualify to manage the clerk recorder. look at all the bad things he has done. He is just as bad as Andy Quach!!

You’re right, Norby is over qualified for the Clerk-Record’s office. Exactly what experience does Nguyen posses over Norby? You seem to know him quite well.

You are right Norby is over qualified. He sleeps on the job and sexually harasses woman. You must work for Norby because anyone who votes for Norby is an IDIOT!
I dont know Mr. Nguyen but I saw his website and he has 12 yrs experience at the Clerk Recorder Office. He has my vote!!!

I used to be a big fan of Norby but this campaign is a REACH. He doesn’t know a damn thing about the Clerk-Recorder’s office, with the exception of getting marriage licenses, since he has had to get FOUR of them already!
John Lewis, who is Norby’s consultant, is the same dude that got Mike Carona elected Sheriff even though Carona was a Bailiff with ZERO experience in REAL law enforcement. Now he is trying to put lipstick on a pig again!
Hugh Nguyen was a leader in the Clerk-Recorder’s office for 12 years! He is now the assistant to the County Clerk. He knows what to do as a Clerk-Recorder. Why would you hire a gas-bag politician when you can hire a guy who knows what he is doing?
The ONLY sensible choice is Nguyen!
