I’ve been tagged!
“A 38-year-old Santa Ana man remains hospitalized after being stabbed early Tuesday during a confrontation with suspected taggers, police said. At 2:10 a.m. a caller told police a man was being assaulted by five males at the southwest corner of McFadden Avenue and Maple Street, said Santa Ana police Cmdr. Stephen Colon,” according to the O.C. Register.
Here’s the kicker:
The attackers were described as three teens and two adults wearing baggy clothing. All of the suspects were riding bikes.
Well, thank goodness the City of Santa Ana is forcing new businesses to install bike racks! Can’t inconvenience the tagger gangbangers!
Are the Usual Suspects encouraging residents to become graffiti vigilantes?
There has been a huge push by Santa Ana’s Usual Suspects to pass a new graffiti ordinance. However, the SAPD has their hands full stopping violent crime. Now the taggers are becoming violent criminals themselves. Just a few months ago a tagger shot another tagger at the Mainplace Mall. He executed him in his car.
According to the L.A. Times, there have been several murders due to taggers, in Southern California:
The stabbing is the latest instance of a person in Southern California being attacked after catching taggers vandalizing property, including three who were killed in the last two years.
In August 2007, Pico Rivera grandmother Maria Hicks was shot dead after she honked her car horn, flashed her lights and followed a tagger who had defaced a wall.
Ten days after Hicks’ death, Seutatia Tausili, 65, was shot and killed in Hesperia after she and her family questioned taggers spray-painting trash cans and the wall of their apartment building.
In December, Jose Jorge Perez was fatally shot after he and a friend tried to stop a group of taggers in Hollywood.
Some cities, including Montebello and Los Angeles, have installed video equipment to catch taggers in the act without human intervention. Authorities advise keeping a safe distance.
Obviously Santa Ana residents need to keep their distance from taggers. And walking around our town at 2 in the morning is a death wish. If you are going to do that you better be packing some heat!
“However, the SAPD has their hands full stopping violent crime”…. sure!
Like killing unarmed mothers in front of their children.
There is a simple solution to resolve tagging but you can’t teach this bovine heads in the SAPD13 new trick.
GOD HATES THE CITY OF SANTA ANA !!!
Pure and simple – it is bad management!!!
Dear Art, Check the article in todays paper (LA times I think) about part of Van Nuys spliting off and joining another city. Maybe Santa Ana is too big to govern as it is. How about letting North of 17th street join Orange, South Coast Metro area of Santa Ana join Costa Mesa, and West of the River join Garden Grove and Fountain Valley. The “new” Santa Ana you would have left could elect a council that better reflects the community and the other areas could join cities that better reflect the interests and cultural background of the people who live there. Those areas with more tagging and youth issues could deal with them in thier own way. Why not do a post and ask people to give ideas on how to divide up Santa Ana and which cities those neighborhoods might join??
Send the parents to jail or fine them big, that will wake up the loser parents in Santa Ana. Why were Teenagers out at 2am in the morning anyway. WHERE ARE THE PARENTS!
It is not the cities fault that their are alot of unfit parents in Santa Ana.
The city is not the Nanny!
They will be caught and sent to jail.
Michele,
That is part of bad city management. There is not one single cure for everything.
Michelle,
How do you know for sure that those involved were minors?
Stanislav,
“Unarmed mothers”?
You continually ignore the fact that she was using her car as a weapon. She tried to run down the officers. Should they have just let her do that?
I think you are still pissed that the SAPD arrested you. That is why you continue to smear the department.
SHAMEFUL!
GOD STILL HATES SANTA ANA !!! THERES IS NO HOPE!!!
I should correct spieling of “Bechine” to Bechyně Airbase see http://www.mil-airfields.de/cz/letiste-bechyne.htm
stanislav, you are a nutcase
Stanislav,
Coalition?
Who is in this coalition?
This woman clearly put the lives of the police officers as well as the public in danger. The shooting was justified and it was ruled as such by all responsible parties investigating it.
It is too bad that hatred and racism consumes you. The men and women of the SAPD, Hispanic, Anglo, Asian or Black all do a fine job serving our community.
I have done a little investigating of my own. It was a Hispanic officer that arrested you here in Santa Ana. I have spoken to him on many occasions and he is no ex-gangbanger. He is a bright and articulate family man who gives back to the community.
These attacks by you are so SHAMEFUL!
Where’d you get the picture of my babysitter?
Stanislav,
Given your criminal history I find it rather ironic that you seem so concerned about the woman killed by the SAPD and the welfare of her child. You seem obsessed with attacking the fine men and women of our police department based on this case.
In July of 2004 a jury of your peers found you guilty of spousal abuse, child abuse and endangerment among other counts.
Why do you obsess over this woman and show no regard for your own family?
I agree with you Fiala, the police should be better trained in not to kill tatic’s.
They could have hit the tires, i have seen it done in N.Ireland to stop a car. I believe the Officer made a fatal error with his judgement and he will live with it for the rest of his life.
Stanislav,
This woman put herself in harms way and her death is the result of her own wreckless and criminal behavior.
The PD could not simply let her drive away for fear that she may injure or kill someone else.
I was gonna ask you how would you feel if the PD let her drive away and she killed your wife or child? But given your criminal record you have clearly demonstrated that you have little to no regard for the well being of your family.
The death penalty doesn’t work.
If the criminal doensn’t surrender, shoot them in the head. It is safer and cheaper overall.
Even if the criminal is a woman, I belive in equal rights among the sexes.
Cook,
Are you part of the “primitive Mexican culture which is obsessed with legal/illegal killing” LOL????
Cheney and Bush must be part of this group too. They allegedly, secretly, were structuring assassination squads in the CIA.
Maybe the CIA should come into Santa Ana and recruit Mexicans and PD officers LOL……
Cheney, Bush and the CIA have assimilated to the primitive Mexican culture???????????
I am really glad i do not live in Santa Ana.
Social cuts are going to happen, alot of Illegals are going to lose their jobs and gangs are going to increase. Schools are going to become very dangerous and alot of people in Santa Ana will lose their lives.
If you can move, MOVE!
The economic down turn is hitting the high-brows in the wealthy cities harder than in the cities like Santa Ana. So if you want to weather the storm of 3 or more years of the this economic depression and still enjoy life, move into Santa Ana.
Dr Art and Stan, how many people should die at the hands of a criminal before that criminal is stopped?
I don’t know squat about the cop shooting cases posted , so my opinion is just my BS.
Cook, i think your talking about the fact that Santa Ana consumes over 90% of orange county welfare, so maybe your right move in to santa ana and stright down to Healthy Families/Caloptima.
Except! Crap i’m white and i’m not from Mexico, Ah well good thought though. I quess i just better get a job:(
Who is being killed in Santa Ana by the police department Stan???
fiala, why on gods earth would a people so envolved with their families, kids, take the life of a mother infront of her kid. Fiala l think you have good intentions, but you are wrong! I know that the Mexicans may kill for money, they do not kill mother,s and kids.
Google it Michelle.
When it comes to tagging in Santa Ana, everyone needs to stay out the way. Not only is it dangerous, it gets in way of Santa Ana’s declaration to become an art community… 5 city missions ago.
