Several Friends have recently asked that we share with you our Loyal Readers some images of the ridiculous Redevelopment sidewalks in downtown Fullerton. The question that comes to mind is: what sort of ninny would design something so impractical and expensive, other than a Redevelopment bureaucrat, of course; and why? Read more.

I have no idea what the reasoning is, but if it helps keep bikes off the sidewalk I’m all for it. I walk our dog on downtown sidewalks all the time, and have had many close calls of bicyclist almost running my dog down. The police seem to hassle skateboarders, but at least I can hear them coming and tighten up the length of the leash or stand off to the side. The bikes are the real menace.
baxter, maybe you should complain about the bikes in a letter to the Fullerton Observer.
Ya let do all we can to keep bikes off the sidewalks.
The best thing to do is to take one lane of the road and make it a permanent bike lane that is blocked off to auto/truck traffic.
The almost exclusive use of the public roadways for auto’s is absurd. and that the drivers only pay about 10 percent of the cost of those roads. Talk about auto-welfare.
I like meandering sidewalks in general, but that stretch looks a little clunky.
And I’ll invoke the old skater slogan…Skateboarding is not a crime!
