The documentary about Farrah’s courageous battle against cancer drew an estimated 8.9 million viewers.
“Farrah’s Story” was NBC’s most-watched program it its time slot in more than a year — excluding the Olympics — according to estimates cited by the Associated Press.
The film documented Farrah’s diagnosis with anal cancer in 2006 and followed her as the disease progressed and spread to her liver. The documentary showed the “Charlie’s Angels” star keeping her sense of humor and remaining positive while pursuing various conventional and alternative treatments aimed at curing her disease.
Farrah’s best friend Alana Stewart produced the film.
Interesting, she was one year younger than I.
So without Farrah now, I live on borrowed time!
Great pictures. So many memories. Ciao Farrah – Vaya con Dios!
Farrah was my idol in the late 1970s and I have the hair to prove it…

“I just lost my best friend. ” (Alana Stewart)
There are no words to express the deep sense of loss that I feel. For thirty years Farrah was much more than a friend, she was my sister, and although I will miss her terribly I know in my heart that she will always be there as that angel on the shoulder of everyone who loved her.”
Farrah’s “Charlie’s Angels” co-star and the voice of Charlie, John Forsythe, told ET, “Though I did not know her well, Farrah left an indelible mark on me and the public during her one year reign on ‘Charlie’s Angels.’ She put up a gallant fight and I send my deepest sympathy and prayers to her family and friends.”
Actor George Hamilton — former husband Alana Stewart — says of the actress, “She was the strongest woman I ever met who fought this battle for three years to the end. She never felt sorry for herself, and she was the sweetest and kindest lady and I will miss her very much.”
too bad she was something / its sad
I watched “Farrah’s Story” and was moved by her courageous fight against this damn disease. Her strengh in fighting this battle was inspiring> her final words to the camera were .. what are you fighting for? That’s when I lost it.
My prayers and thoughts are for her dad, Ryan and her son Redmond.
Kate Jackson released the following statement…
“I will miss Farrah everyday. She was a selfless person who loved her family and friends with all her heart, and what a big heart it was. Farrah showed immense courage and grace throughout her illness and was an inspiration to those around her. When I think of Farrah, I will remember her kindness, her cutting dry wit and of course her beautiful smile. Today when you think of Farrah, remember her smiling because that is exactly how she wanted to be remembered … smiling.”
