There isnt any real discussion going on. Nobody will address what was said. They just want to declare the intentions of their opponents.

The Northern Ireland conflict was never about religion. It was about who rules Northern Ireland. It just happens that Ireland is Catholic and the UK is Protestant. If it had been the other way around, or if one side had some other religion, the conflict would still be the same.
And the same with the individuals who flew airplanes into buildings on 9/11/2001. They were just superficially Muslim. In other parts of Europe, e.g., Germany, huge populations of Christians of both persuasions, Catholics and Protestants, live in unity with each other, proving that the N. Ireland conflict is about power, i.e., who rules N. Ireland.
The last Catholic/Protestant war the Continent has seen was the 30-year war, and that was, as every other such war, about who ruled, in this case who ruled over large parts of Europe.
As somebody who grew up in Europe, on the Continent, and not on the fringes, I indeed DO know history.
Again, religion is abused by the people who pull the strings, and in particular children are very susceptible for this kind of manipulation.
The exact same thing happens in other parts of the world, in the India/Pakistan conflict, which is about who rules Kashmir, a very rich province, in the Iran/Iraq war, in the Israel/Palestine conflict, with Al-Queda, etc. etc. etc.
All these things are about power, and abused by religious leaders to pursue their power plays.
