I goaded him into it. I did. And he bit. I told him to put his money where his mouth is. Art Pedroza has made a sacred blood oath, a bet that may test him soundly.
If the Republicans gain seats in the next election, I, Terry Crowley, webmaster and conservative fiend, will be put in charge of the website for an entire week.
I know, I know. That’s 2010. But I’ve already been pondering… what will I do? I can twist poll results. I can add to readers comments, I can be the fly in the ointment, turn friend against friend, ally friend with foe, anonster could be saying he’s become a born-again! Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!!!!!

God, I miss Vern Nelson.
#1,
Me too. Hopefully he will be back one day.
On the good news front, I am working on getting a progressive Democrat friend to join our blog team. Cross your fingers!!!!
Fingers crossed! I hope he’s (she’s) a firecracker.
#3,
He is a kind soul but he knows the issues very well.
What about you? Your comments are always spot on! You would make a fine blogger, IMHO.
Art…if by “Your comments are always spot on!” you mean Totaly insane and you are nothing more than a puppet for the Daily Kos, and the huffington post…I agree…..
With that said, come on in annonster the water is fine!
I think Vern has other plans when he returns.
That’s a safe bet, Art. Crowley won’t get his week in the sun.
#6,
I keep telling Crowley that the GOP is dead, but he just won’t budge. Poor guy. He is red through and through.
Whatever Vern does we wish him the best!
Art, thanks for the offer, but I already spend too much time here as it is.
You have a great mix on this blog, and I do appreciate ALL the bloggers, they seem to have what it takes; “abs of steel”.
anonster,
I second Arts motion. what will it take to sweeten the pot?
I can never darken the halls of your posts???
anonster,
It’s not all that hard and I would LOVE to see some of your ideas as starter threads. Please consider it. Make me the third vote, behind Art and Terry! We’ll help you and it really isn’t all that complicated after the first one.
The software is a little glitchy, but only a little bit. Look how quickly Jill P took to it!
Don’t you have at least ONE little burning issue that you’d like to see addressed? C’mon… It’s fine in here… really!
😉
If Terry takes over, I am quitting!
What does Art and the rest of us get if you LOSE, Terry? Which of course you will lose. Even if Mitt Romney spends 80% of his personal fortune to try and float some stinky candidates up to the top.
What’s the upside to this bet? 😉
I know this plot line. “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” right?
But who is Nurse Ratched?
“But who is Nurse Ratched?”
I heard junior’s muffled cries somewhere on the ethernet in response to you: “Red Vixen!!!!”
lol!
History says that the GOP should gain some seats back in the midterm elections, but perhaps if the GOP continues to drive off the right side of the road there will be a loss as Art predicts, as a democrat I hope so, but time will tell.
Art hasn’t said what the upside to the bet is yet. Perhaps a dunk tank and all Orange Juicers get to take a shot?
Whatever it is, the prospect of being able to take over the Juice for a week is more than enough to make me swallow almost any bet.
Dont leave Vixen. My mocking columns would be oh so much rarer…
Terry,
You won’t be winning this bet! The GOP is kaput…
You’re lost Art. Lost your mind, lost your principles, lost in Libertarian land, lost lost lost in space.
The percentages are clearly on my side.
By 2010 when most states, counties, cites and local government go bankrupt and hundreds of millions are standing in line at soup kitchens, listening to “tax and spend on themselves 1st” ask the downward mobile people of the USA for more taxes to protect their lifestyles, I think the Democratic party with be toss away to join other failed attempts at world domination such as the Nazi Party in Germany and the Communist party in USSR.
Not much left in the country to tax after the last administration, which happened to be Republican.
Yes go ahead and blame the last guy,
Society moves in anticipation of what is going to happen in the future.
So answer me this?
If the Democrat dream of a socialistic society run by the chosen few under the current admiration and governmental make up, Why are we not prospering ? It can’t be for a lack of spending.
cook,
“If the Democrat dream of a socialistic society run by the chosen few under the current admiration and governmental make up, Why are we not prospering ? It can’t be for a lack of spending.”
You can pretty much apply that to GW Bush too.
your right Art Bush sucked really, he was not a true republican.
He was great on defense and weak on kicking the liberal wack jobs out of his office. Repulican’s in calfornia have crossed over to the dark side of the libs. ie. state going under.
So moral of the story: Terry dont let Art get into your office, “Kick him Out”.:)
Dont go away Terry, i need to know that their are sane people here in Orange Country or Art and Anonster will win and i will go home”(
I LIKE AMERICA.
cook, your attitude is exactly what is wrong with this country. Our financial troubles didn’t “start” in 2008, the seeds of this mess were planted long ago, under Ronald Reagan, a combination of financial deregulation and looser lending restrictions ( I refer you to Paul Krugman’s excellent article; Reagan’s thrift deregulation paved way to economic disaster”) and NAFTA under Clinton and of course the total lack of any oversight under Bush, jr., all combined (with MANY other factors) to create our current crisis.
To think that we will have a “healthy” economy instantly is both CHILDISH and DESTRUCTIVE. The penchant Americans have for “instant gratification” has led to POOR POLICY decisions, this has been especially true for the REPUBLICAN PARTY, they continue spending, but hide the true cost by adding DEBT, at least the Democrats “tax and spend”.
Obama can’t wave a magic wand and make it all better (and NO ONE ever said he could), all he can do is try a series of economic strategies, of which there is no “right” formula, economics is NOT an exact science, but HE WON THE ELECTION and so it’s up to him to try and figure a way out the MASSIVE PILE OF SH*T, THAT BUSH LEFT. IT WILL TAKE YEARS!
GROW UP, cookie
anonster
the current president is not trying “a series of economic strategies”. he has hired the band of crooks who gamed the system.
I hope his learning curve catches up real quick and he doesnt spend 8 years thinking its someone elses problem like the last guy.
Anonster appreciates ALL of the Juice bloggers. Art. Did I read that correctly?
We will return this weekend which should make anonymous extremely happy.
While it’s too early to predict wins and losses in the 2010 off year election my knee jerk is that the Rep’s will capture a few seats in the House. That’s playing it safe.
Larry-the hypocrite-Gilbert, I look forward to your return. I hope you enjoyed your vacation.
En Garde!
aww… just saw comment #1 for the first time *blush* thanks
