One small problem…please justify your position limiting marriage to just two. This is certainly a minority position in the world.
According to the Ethnographic Atlas Codebook derived from George Peter Murdock’s Ethnographic Atlas (1981), which recorded the marital composition of 1231 societies, from 1960-1980,
186 societies were monogamous, 453 had occasional polygyny, 588 had more frequent polygyny, and seven had polyandry.
Certainly we should be more open minded, and not restrict this “privilege” to just homosexuals? I really cannot understand our societies inability to address our historical bigotry in this matter. You do know that the “dont marry your cousin” standard is a centuries old bigotry against foreigners who were migrating to this country with that behavior.
There are only three historical reasons for marriage: social stability, genetics and economics. And the first two no longer count. Let’s eliminate governments role in marriage and take away the economic incentives. Will you join me in a 501c(3) for this effort?
Let the people marry who they want to…my goodness! I, personally will NEVER marry (it’s not for me), but if people want to….by all means let THEM choose the person…simple as that!

Interesting idea, I think that marriage does promote social stability and that genetics still apply despite advances in medicine.
It would be interesting to discuss this further
