Welcome Jill!
I like it. I want to put up a crime scene linkon the left side. thoughts?
Love it. Good post!
Thank you! Sounds good to me~
*Jill,
Fantastic …..you really need to do this every
two weeks…..it is such a wonderful community
service to us all.
Excellent..well done!
Can’t get the crime scene maps to open … any suggestions?
Great idea Jill.
One problem. Are you saying that we do not have crime in Mission Viejo by not including our city?
From the Mission Viejo Dispatch you can find the following stories:
“The Sheriff’s Department believes it has arrested the individuals responsible for four recent robberies in Mission Viejo. In each case an individual brandished a dark colored gun, took cash and left on foot. A gun recovered in conjunction with the arrests was a dark pellet gun.
The Watch Commander told the Dispatch that authorities felt the suspects were responsible for the heists at Baskin 31 Ice Cream Shop, Coldstone Ice Cream Store, Union 76 Gas Station and Der Wienerschnitzel.”
http://www.missionviejodispatch.com
“After a second theft within a month, Der Wienerschnitzel probably isn’t feeling like it’s a only a few hundred feet from the police station for the safest city in California. The restaurant is located on LaPaz near Marguerite, a stone’s throw from City Hall.
On Sunday evening around 8:15 a robber took about $100 from the cash register after brandishing a handgun. He left on foot. The profile was similar to recent robberies at Baskin 31 at Los Alisos and Trabuco and the Union 76 station at Marguerite and Trabuco.
On March 10 burglars broke into the same restaurant and took an ATM machine belonging to Schools First Federal Credit Union. The FBI was involved in the subsequent investigation. The machine had a large amount of cash and has not been recovered.”
Jill,
Can you include Grafitti vandalism in the report.
Santa Ana and possibly other cities don’t include it in order to decrease their crime stats for political reasons.
This crime is very serious economically relative to tax payers and private enteties affected.
Money is lost similar to robbery. Robbery gets action, grafitti vanadalism does not, even though the financal loss is way higher in vandalism.
A 7- Eleven gets robbed of $100.00 and the FBI gets involved. Private or public property gets vandalized and the grafetti task force gets notified, nothing juch else occurs.
This example along with PD not responding or responding in a negative way decreases reports resulting in low crime reports, all done for political manipulation.
Good job Jill. You go girl! Keep up the good fight.
I apologize for not posting all of the cities. If you go to the OCBlotter link at the top…it does include most of the surrounding cities. I will try to include graffiti and Mission Viejo next time. Thanks for reading!
Jill,
Great job! Welcome to the Orange Juice…you are already making a big splash…
Hey Jill,
This is a really useful post. It is interesting to see what sort of crimes are being committed in our community. Thanks. I think you are a good fit for this blog!
