The recall against San Jose Councilwoman Madison Nguyen failed. She “handily won 55-45,” according to the Bolsavik blog. This is a huge blow to Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen. Why, you might ask? Because Janet was one of the main instigators behind this recall.
I know this because Janet told me over the past year about her many trips to San Jose, where she attended meetings of those trying to recall Madison – and Janet often spoke at those meetings.
Why did Janet target Madison? For one thing, Madison is affiliated with Janet’s sworn enemies, the Trannies – the followers of Assemblyman Van Tran. Madison is a Democrat, but Tran has several Democrats in his network.
I suspect that Janet also was peeved because Madison backed Trung Nguyen when he ran against Janet for the OC BOS.
Thomas Gordon, our former blogger and full-on Jannie, explained the recall over at the Red-faced County blog thusly, “Madison Nguyen tried naming the Story Road area Vietnam Town Business District to benefit Lap Tang, owner of Vietnam Town Mall. When she was exposed, she claimed support for the name Saigon Business District over the name, Little Saigon. She then tried to put the matter on the ballot at a cost of almost 3 Million dollars. That too was a no-go.”
Trust me when I tell you that this verbiage came directly from Janet. There is no way that Thomas would have a clue about any of this. This is how Janet manipulates the local blogosphere. She used to call me all the time with pre-fab stories. And I ran a few of them before we had our falling out, when she endorsed lame Santa Ana Councilman Carlos Bustamante last year.
Since that stupid endorsement, Janet has lost her mind. She voted against proposed County health ratings of local restaurants – and that blew up when we revealed that her husband and her Chief of Staff co-own a restaurant that has received multiple serious County health violations.
And just this week Janet gave Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido almost two hundred thousand so he can build a clay tennis court for himself over at Cabrillo Park.
If anyone needs to be recalled, it is Janet, not Madison.

That’s strange, Art. Just yesterday you wrote — and I quote: “No one tells me what to write.”
Must be tough keeping all the storylines straight in your head.
If anyone needs to be recalled, it is Janet, not Madison.
Just think — if only she’d endorsed you, you’d still be her number one blog toady!
Matt/Jubal,
And there is the difference between us. I get tips and sometimes run them – you, on the other hand, get your marching orders and you better do as you are told. As I have said before, you are nothing more than a blog monkey for the red-faced OC mob.
Matt/Jubal,
Really? You know that for a fact do you? Give me a break. You are projecting again. If anyone is a blog toady it is you.
The record shows that I am not afraid to call folks on the mat – and that is exactly what I would have done in any case after Janet’s stupid behavior this year.
BTW, I understand that Thomas Gordon was told not to blog about Janet’s tennis court deal on your blog. Looks like you are covering up for her – which makes you a Jannie. No wonder you are such pals with the Jannies over at Sunny D and the Liberal OC.
Art,
You are a certifiable lunatic. Absolutely certifiable. You just believe what you want to believe, because in your world the line between fantasy and reality doesn’t exist.
I haven’t spoken with Thomas in several weeks. I don’t pester my blogpen members, or tell them what they can or cannot write about. Ask anyone who has ever written for Red County.
Matt/Jubal,
Yeah sure. So when are you telling your readers that your pal John Lewis endorsed Democrat Tom Daly over conservative Republican Shawn Nelson?
“Yeah sure.”
LOL.
Come back when you have something to offer, or an actual intelligent point to make.
Matt/Jubal,
“Come back?” Um, this is my blog Matt. Tell you what, why don’t you “come back” after you tell your readers about the Lewis endorsement of Daly?
BTW, funny that you had no comment re the Urell story that Gustavo broke this week. Gato got your tongue?
Um, this is my blog Matt.
Hence, it’s irrelevance.
Matt/Jubal,
What can possibly be MORE irrelevant than NOT telling your readers that Lewis endorsed Daly? Your shilling has become obvious Matt. It is sad to see a once proud blogger reduced to being a paid blog monkey.
And if we are so darn irrelevant, than why do you spend half your day here when you ought to be telling your readers about Lewis’ betrayal of your party?
And if we are so darn irrelevant, than why do you spend half your day here…
Partly morbid curiosity to see how much angry and insane you and Sean can get, and partly because you’re so easy to tweak and debate. You run out of intelligent counter-points almost immediately.
Let’s get real here. The old Vietnamese community are still deeply bitter about the war. They plea for democracy and freedom but they do not accept anyone that won’t condemn the communist like them. The whole recall was a sham and we all know it. It was an attempt by them to force their hatred down another person’s throat. They want all Vietnamese to hate the communist. In their foolish mind, they seek revenge by hoping somehow the communist will be overthrown someday and will not accept anything less. To me they have become so extreme they’ve completely lost all bound of reason. They are consume by hatred down to the same level of the very people they hate.
Frankly, i think their behavior in this whole ordeal is disrespectful to the 62% or so non-vietnamese population of district 7 and the rest of America. The name Little Saigon meaningful yes. Defiant is fine and all, but you can’t keep using the same old idea. Little Saigon is also too non-inclusive. It gives the feeling of being unwelcoming to other people because most people who don’t know what it is won’t know what to make of it. Most business place are designated with Plaza, Center, Town, Square, something that makes it more welcoming b/c they can understand what it is. It does the Vietnamese community no favor to be view as unwelcoming to the rest of America.
The record shows that I am not afraid to call folks on the mat – and that is exactly what I would have done in any case after Janet’s stupid behavior this year.
Linh,
Welcome to Orange Juice and thank you for your thoughtful post.
I was unhappy about all the protesting of the young VN artist who had their showing closed down.
Artistic works are supposed to challenge the viewers and spark debate and conversation. The exhibit was very controversial and there was a lot of emotion surrounding it. Shutting down the exhibit shut down the conversation that others might have been brought into. I would have liked to have known more about the artist, the art pieces and about the controversy, but there were too many who demanded silence. ~Just saying.
Matt aka Jubal can stay in his little HOLE with among other right wing racists! Stop attacking Art with no reason.
We all know Janet has been a irrational, vindictive clown in our county.
Playing on clay leads to a strong thirst for Diet
Coke!
Go back into your lair Jubal. You are so boring.
