I have heard for some time that taggers are now as dangerous as other gang bangers. Sure enough, the SAPD announced that “An arrest has been made in connection with the killing of a young man during a gang-related assault last week at MainPlace mall,” according to the O.C. Register.
And guess what? Both the killer and the guy who was shot were competing taggers.
Here are a few excerpts from the O.C. Register:
Gang homicide detectives arrested Aaron Castaneda, 26, of Santa Ana nearly, at a local motel early Saturday, about 12 hours after the shooting, said Santa Ana police Cmdr. Tammy Franks.
Castaneda is believed to be a member of a tagging gang from Santa Ana, Franks said. He is being held at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1.25 million bail.
The victim, Cesar Zavala, 18, of Tustin died at hospital shortly after he was shot multiple times and then crashed his car into a tree, police said.
Zavala is believed to have been a member of a tagging crew from Tustin, Franks said.
Maybe now the City of Santa Ana will start cracking down on taggers?
Perhaps the city is cracking down by enabling them to off each other.
That’s not what is going to happen….what’s going to happen now is, unfortunately, the reality is that you will simply see retaliation. That is how it is dealt with. It is a ugly…ugly fact.
What in the heck has happened over time? No morals, no respect, kids having kids, racial un-equality, economic unequality….and plain old friggen stupidity.
Shut up, you make no sense!
Gee, Gui…I must have hit a nerve.
Maybe the taggers have damaged Self-Esteem.
It is high time that people come out of denial and realize what is REALLY happening in Santa Ana and many other So. Calif. areas. What is REALLy happening,is this – we are being literally invaded and taken over by outsiders who do not even belong here, but we seem to persist in keeping our backs turned on that. Is it out of fear, ignorance, laziness, not caring . . . just what is it that keeps us so passive and evidently so convinced that we, as individuals, can do nothing about it? Maybe we can’t ‘directly,’ but we sure can ‘indirectly’ by making phone calls, writing letters, sending e-mail, and faxes to officials in absolutely all levels of government, starting with the City of Santa Ana, working right on up to the White House level, letting them all know that we will no longer stand for it. Or, the option is to continue doing nothing while our culture, our lifestyle, and quality of life are completely destroyed!
R.I.P. SABIO!!!
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE BIG DOG
