Jindal’s response was a failure…now what will the GOP do?

Well, that didn’t take long.  Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was supposed to be the GOP’s savior.  But his televised response to President Barack Obama’s speech this week was no bueno, to say the least.

“Conservative commentators were among the harshest critics, calling Mr. Jindal’s delivery animatronic, his prose “cheesy” and his message — that federal spending is not the answer to the nation’s economic problems — uninspired,” according to the New York Times.

A political scientist at the University of Maryland said that Jindal “used old platitudes and party clichés.”  Ouch!

Jindal did get one thing right: “You elected Republicans to champion limited government, fiscal discipline and personal responsibility,” he said. “Instead, Republicans went along with earmarks and big government spending in Washington. Republicans lost your trust, and rightly so.”
