Now this is a weird story. For some reason, the Libertarian Party of Orange County has endorsed Westminster Councilman Kermit Marsh (pictured above in a kilt), who is a very conservative Republican, for an O.C. Superior Court seat, against Debra Carillo, according to Red County.
Red County also states that Marsh “is supported by the bulk of Orange County’s Republican Leaders and by traditional center-right groups, like the Young Republicans, the Lincoln Club and the California Republican Lawyers Association.” There is NOTHING “center” about any of those organizations!
In fact if you look at Marsh’ website, he is endorsed by a Who’s Who of conservative Republicans, with the exception of Santa Ana Miguel Pulido, who may as well be a Republican.
The irony in all this is that Matt “Jubal” Cunningham, the editor of Red County, sent out an attack mailer against me last week that stated that the Libertarian Party is the party that wants to legalize pot and prostitution. So why is Matt’s blog touting the Libertarian Party’s endorsement of Marsh?
And why DID the Libertarian’s endorse a guy who supports Prop. 8? That makes NO sense to me, as the Libertarian party is opposed to Prop. 8. These kind of endorsements make my friends at the Libertarian Party look bad.
Carillo, on the other hand, is endorsed by one of the Libertarian Party’s superstars, Judge Jim Gray. In fact she is supported by dozens of judges. I know that she opposed Prop. 8 too, as she was at the recent ECCO dinner. ECCO also has declared that Marsh is “unacceptable.”
Carillo has my vote.
Hey At:
A few months ago you were praising Kermit’s integrity and giving him your vote in the primary.
A few months alter, suddenly you’re Debra Carrillo’s biggest fan because…Kermit didn’t go to the ECCO dinnner.
Glad to see you vote is decided on such weighty grounds.
And for a guy who says that hit mailer backfired, you sure can’t stop blogging about it.
Matt/Jubal,
I have said before that Kermit is a nice guy, but he is wrong on civil liberties and Carillos is right on that count. I did not know that then, but I have since found out their positions.
Now as for that mailer, it is high comedy that you ripped the Libertarian Party, wrongfully, for advocating drugs and prostitution, and now your blog is touting that same party’s endorsement of Marsh.
BTW, everyone I talk to in Orange County politics thinks your mailer was very lame. You cannot imagine how much people have laughed at your pathetic attempt to hurt me. But thanks for the new readers! We had a record week here at the Orange Juice.
I also endorse Carrillo. She didn’t appear at last month’s LPOC meeting because apparently she didn’t receive her invite from the party, and though I got a hold of her eventually, it was two days before and too late for her to change her plans.
Carrillo for Superior Court Judge!

Right.
What did you find out about Kermit that you hadn’t known all these years?
You’re like a weathervane.
BTW, everyone I talk to in Orange County politics thinks your mailer was very lame.
You mean, the entire OJ blogpen?
Matt,
That he is supporting Prop. 8.
As for your mailer, believe me it has made you a laughingstock not just here but all over the OC. I thought you were supposed to be some sort of big shot consultant. Was that really your best effort? Amazing.
That he is supporting Prop. 8.
How did you think Kermit would vote? You knew he’d be voting that way when you supported him in June.
With supporters like you, who needs enemies?
As for your mailer, believe me it has made you a laughingstock not just here but all over the OC.
Suuure, Art. Because you’re political contacts are sooo extensive in OC.
If you have to keep insisting, over and over and over, when no one is asking you, that the mailer didn’t make any difference, then it must have.
Matt –
You’re perpetuating your own relevance now. We get your point and we understand your position. You’re still wrong. It looks to me like you keep bringing up the mailer because you’re afraid you may have screwed up. The fact that you would ban someone from your blog for saying so only spotlights your inferiority and guilt.
Yeah, and I’m supposedly green and inexperienced and don’t know what the hell I’m talking about. Well, you’ve been playing the game at a higher level than I have for years according to your own words. So why do you still suck at it? In your case, practice did not make perfect.

Whatta matchup! She’ll see his politics and raise a pop psychology. Yessireee, Buffy loves slayin her some demon. Get him Slayer!

Yawn. You have lots of talk. No results.
I’m just pointing out Art’s a weathervane. It’s not exactly a surprise Kermit would support Prop.8, so citing that as a reason for flip-flopping from Kermit to Carrillo is ridiculous.
As for the mailer: we’ve posted about it exactly once at Red County, and then moved on. You guys can’t seem to let go. Just a wee bit of the “protesting too much” going on here.
The fact that you would ban someone from your blog for saying so only spotlights your inferiority and guilt.
That’s not why you were banned, SMS. Can’t you keep even simple bits of reality from a few days ago straight in your head?
Matt –
When you’re done lying through your teeth and being a fascist, let me know. The truth is there for all to see. I raised a reasonable suspicion and you banned me for it. Nice job, Adolph. I’m not the first victim of your partisanship and I’m sure I won’t be the last. Heil Jubal.
Your streak of civil disagreement is apparently over.

That was a streak? Obviously Buffy you are fatigued from campaigning nonstop for so long, we all are. I understand your forbearance. Just ignore these bullies. Their unreasonable and continuous attacks on you over everything you write is so juvenile as to border on the ridiculous.
