“As many as five homes were lost to wildfire in an upscale Yorba Linda neighborhood last weekend because firefighters had no water, leaving them no choice but to let the homes burn, fire officials said Friday,” according to the L.A. Times.
Several homes in the upper Hidden Hills Estates area burned down because the fire extinguishers in that neighborhood had no water pressure. And residents are now complaining that they have been trying to get water pressure problems resolved, fruitlessly, for years.
What happened and who is to blame?
John and Ken, of KFI, interviewed the Yorba Linda City Manager. Apparently the City of Yorba Linda failed to notify residents that there was a fire emergency, on a timely basis. John and Ken have also been contending that the Yorba Linda Water District is to blame for the water pressure problems, due to stupid policies. Two of the Yorba Linda Water District Directors were just re-elected on Nov. 4 – Michael Beverage and Richard Collett. Here is what Beverage promised in his ballot statement:
It looks like Beverage has already broken his campaign promise regarding low water pressure!

Collett says that the Yorba Linda Water District has been providing reliable water service? Um, I don’t think so!

I wonder how much these guys are getting paid to not do their jobs? I wonder if the people of Yorba Linda who lost their homes will be able to sue them? And I wonder what political party these guys belong to?
