As I drove to Santa Ana to attend a fund raiser for Juice blog founder Art Pedroza, candidate for Santa Ana city council, I heard Tammy Bruce on KABC radio speaking to a caller regarding a You Tube clip that was removed from Senator Obama’s web site. She reports that it has also been removed from You Tube. Before going off the air Tammy had staff locate said video and has now posted it on the home page of her web site.
In this short video you can see and hear Senator “Obama pledging to disarm us during a time of war. This is from just last year. His gang has been trying to get it buried, but we found another copy. Please let me know if this link gets killed.” Tammy Bruce.
Juice readers. After playing the video several times, I have attempted to transcribe, verbatim, the senator and could not keep up with every word. However, in addition to watching it yourself, the following is very close to the exact text.
Before providing same I must remind readers of president Ronald Reagan whose foreign policy was successful due to his acknowledging the top priority of any government. Be it your local city council to the president residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, they each have a sworn duty is to protect our “public safety.”
We do not need another global leader such as former U.K. P.M. Neville Chamberlain who almost surrendered the U.K. and western Europe to Adolph Hitler in W.W. II by his policy of “appeasement.”
We won the Cold War with Russia due in great part to our following the wisdom of Barry Goldwater who was quoted by president Reagan saying we can protect our nation by adhering to a policy of “peace through strength.”
Senator Obama stresses three points in the one minute video.
“First. I’m the only major candidate to oppose this war from the beginning ..and as president I will end it.
Second. I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.
I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems and..I will institute an independent suspense? priority force to assure that the quadrennial? review is not used to justify unnecessary spending.
Third. I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal I will not develop nuclear weapons. I will seek a global ban on the production? of nuclear material and…I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBM’s off hair trigger alert and to achieve these cuts in our nuclear arsenal.”
Gilbert note. As to Obama’s second point. Having worked in military and space programs I guess the senator never heard of “skunk works” where engineers work in research and development. There is no “guarantee” that every system being developed will be successful. The same applies as we seek cures for various forms of cancer.
He will “slow development of future combat systems.” This statement reminds me of the cartoon where a salesman is sitting in a lobby waiting to meet with a buyer. The potential customer’s firm is fighting a war with bows and arrows while the salesman, who sells machine guns, cools his heels, waiting to meet the decision maker.
And to his point number three. Talk about someone being naive. We will discard our protection and cross our fingers as we negotiate with the KGB.
No wonder he has dropped this You Tube video!
Hi there,
I looked over your blog and it looks really good. Do you ever do link exchanges on your blog roll? If you do, I’d like to exchange links with you.
Let me know if you’re interested.
Thanks..
Hi. I am a long time reader. I wanted to say that I like your blog and the layout.
Peter Quinn
Yes sir, that’s the real Obama, no wonder he’s trying to bury it as deep as he can.
Just wanted to say HI. I found your blog a few days ago on Technorati and have been reading it over the past few days.
Wow. Barack Obama is not Ronald Reagan. That certainly gives pause.
Also. I just wasted a half an hour looking for the video so I could POST IT PROPERLY … just as a service to Larry! Then I find out Art has just done the same thing… WHEN HE SHOULD BE WORKING ON HIS CAMPAIGN
Jesus you people drive me crazy.
It’s too noisy right now to hear what the video says, but if it’s mainly a criticism of Star Wars, then andale, of course Barack is right. And I’ll bring over my NASA buddy from Albuquerque to argue your square heads off.
Then there’s also your concern that he took it off his website… well we shall delve into all of that tomorrow. Stories like this come from Talking Points central, and folks who are interested in the truth will be examining it in the morning.
Brother Vern and Art. Thank you for finding and posting the You Tube clip so that everyone can check out my transcribing talent and Obama’s “peace and freedom through strength” policy.
Perhaps I should have turned the clock back further and quoted another great Republican president. Teddy Rosevelt said “speak softly and carry a big stick.”
Obama needs to follow successful foreign policy as he hits the road trying to convince Americans that he is “ready to be commander-in-chief.” NOT!
What a goof ball, It sure is nice to know the A-Team will be in office next January.
Obama needs to take some history course and find out what America (USA) is all about.
It sure seems the crossover strategy of many republicans switching parties and voting for the weaker candidate to block Mrs. Clinton from running in November worked better than expected.
Go A-Team
Didn’t Obama and his team of advisors remove that lone speech he based his primary contests on?
Vern, NASA buddies?! Lighten up.
