I am sure that Carl, Larry or Junior will somehow find a spin for McCain’s bizarre backing out of Letterman. The breathless last minute call he made that he was leaving town, only to wind up hanging out with Katie Couric and making veal picatta with Rachael Ray 😉
What’s with all the cancellations, John? At least Send Sarah Palin to the debates, if you won’t make it. She’s ready, if you need a nappy nappy break from all the demands of campaigning.
anon, this has become the most bizarre election ever! I think that would be a great idea to put Biden-Palin on Friday. We might get to see them unprepared like we did when Palin was asked for specifics yesterday. I’d give up a Friday night for that.
Obama is Muslim, McCain is Christians. Christians are allowed to lie and do what they want, because Jesus loves McCain and will make him President of heaven while Obama is going to hell and will burn forever and ever.
There you have it folks.
People like them have two rules for right and wrong. IUf you are a Republican, you can do no wrong, if you are a Democrat you can do no right. Even for Carl’s so called “independence” he has been caught many a times looking the other way when Republicans do things that impede liberty, when true Libertarians like Greenhut and Seiler never hesitate to speak out. And Carl’s MO, you call him to the carpet on his conconsistencies, he cries that you are nagging him. Typical right wingers. Why debate, it involves actual discussion.
The message.
You do NOT speak for me. You are the one injecting religion into this post. “People like them?”
Members of both parties, as well as their supporters, make mistakes regardless of what their religious beliefs may be. I admit that I have made my share but I will not allow you to paint a picture of me especially as I do not even know who you are. That said, I do forgive you.
Have a Blessed afternoon!
The message, ummm, please, please continue posting here. See, today you learned that not everyone on your side of the aisle thinks and feels the way you do. I know. I was surprised too. You wouldnt believe the problems I have with some on my side of the aisle. Don’t even get me started on Independents. Anyway your viewpoint seems unique among us (at least to me) and I look forward to the debate these pages provide us.
Anonyms,
We both look forward to the debate or discussions, but as we have both learned the last few days, if we don’t look beyond our own prejudices (pigeon holes) we sometimes miss good things. 😉
We also should never put words into others mouths, should we?
I still believe that being polite counts, and I’m not perfect in that regard either, but I try to make it right and apologize when I’m wrong. To both you (Anonyms) and Vern just this week alone.
Anonyms, The Message was being sarcastic if you read past the first paragraph. And The Message is on “our side.” And I wouldn’t have said what The Message said because Carl Junior & Larry are my friends, BUT he was just exaggerating for provocation’s sake.
It was kind of strange that McCain blew off his old friend Letteman for Katie Couric; it’s not like either of them is a particularly tough interviewer. Josh at Talking Points thinks it probably has a lot to do with the terrible performance Palin had just had with Katie; that McCain thought he could make it look better doing a wrap-up.
Similarly it could be that McCain’s desire to postpone Friday’s debate with Obama is also Palin-related – one McCain aide suggested yesterday that the Obama-McCain debate should take place Oct 2 in place of the Vice-Presidential debate. How d’ya like them moose apples?
And latest news, McCain has just apparently been KICKED OUT of Washington; Congress really doesn’t need him to solve this crisis, he has often said that economics are not his strong suit, he has ALMOST ALWAYS pushed for deregulation and less oversight during his entire 26-year tenure (with the most embarrassing point being the Keating Five Scandal) and he has MISSED MORE SENATE VOTES THE LAST TWO YEARS than any other Senator except that poor old Dakota fella with the aneurysm.
WHAT A STUNT! What’s he gonna come up with next week.
Well Vern, I have to agree, it was a head scratcher for me too.
But I do think there is merit to recalling all of the electeds back, to actually do the jobs they were sent there to do. It’s not they are doing anything that’s productive out running around the country spending donated cash on PR BS, anyway.
It is a very real crisis that they should clean up!
Hey Vern, yeah, got it on reread but had already sent my owwn sarcastic remark. See, you lie with the dogs, you get up with fleas. My bad. The Messenger really, really went someplace dark there though. That could be fun to play with. Even as agitated as we get we havent gone there – at least not in print.
See what a blessing anonymnity is? I sometimes think because I dont know the poster I’m able to consider their words on a different level than when I know more about them. For example, while looking at a recent post on an old thread I had missed due to vacation I learned that Sean was a Commissioner. It changes my view of his posts. Next time I plan to respond “Sean, and you’re a Commissioner!” (he seems predictable enough to be able to do this).
But to get back to your comment – isnt this the craziest election you have ever seen? I’m on McCain-Palin overload. Every few hours brings another misstep. I like John McCain and wonder if this is going to be too much for him and for Palin. She seems a little stressed herself.
Even with all the interference they’ve been running for both of them, just the schedule alone could kill a Trojan. I think McCain’s headed back to Washington to sleep in his own bed and sit on his own throne. It’s all Obama and Bidens fault. If they werent so young and fit and such tireless campaigners then the McCain camp could relax a little.
Well, well, thanks to everyone for chiming in! I am happy that I posted this little ditty well before the evening news- which is all over it- so that you all got a good heads up.
Couple of troubling things for today: anyone else notice McCain’s left eye? It it tiredness or stress or what – it was acting odd yesterday.
Why all the cancellations? Is he off or back on his campaign? I am seeing all sorts of airplay of McCain today.
Is anyone else getting tired of the hide-n-seek palin and the guy who wants to stop everything, so he can concentrate on one thing? and that thing happens to be a project that he’s had absolutely no dealings with, previously.
and lastly, what’s going to go on with McCain and the debates? We know that No-Drama, Obama is gonna be there. I have a debate party planned at my home tomorrow nite during the debates , so I am thankful that Obama’s gonna show up and keep us company.
Carl, I hear the White House thing is a photo op. The ones who do the work are already there and have been working on a solution for a week. I hear they are about to wrap up who is voting what so neither side can use it as a hammer if things go south.
I think not everyone is in a safe district (like the legislators have seen fit to create in California) so not everyone can vote FOR the bailout. Still everyone can see the consequences of inaction so something has to be done. So a condition in any deal needs to be a certain number of NO votes not because they dont support the bill but because they are in competitive districts or districts with voters who are going to question a 750 trillion dollar give-away no matter how many strings are attached.
With that much money they could give every man woman and child in this country legally and illegally about $100,000.00. I dont know about you but if its good enough for them then it should be good enough for me after all its my taxes that are paying for it – WITH INTEREST!! because those DRB’s in DC have squandered my Clintonian budget surplus and drownd me and my children in Bush debt that is earning interest for whoever loaned it to us because we’re in a deficit. By the way I want to see who’s funding the government because if we are that much in debt where did they get the money to spend? Oh wait, I know they just made more! Like the potato chip commercial – how fun. Gee what could go wrong with that? Need another Kazillion dollars? Well, its hard to say, we’re running low on ink. Or maybe they borrow it from …. China!
Anyway, I’m beginning to think that we should nationalize the banking industry by creating a huge National Bank open only to American taxPAYers (offshore acounts and loopholes don’t qualify) in order for credit lines to remain open and commerce to continue. As part of that we begin agressively prosecuting any company that defaults on their customers savings accounts and 401K type accounts. Let these big banks fail and fold, guarantee deposits through the FDIC and fund the FDIC (you can’t assume they will anymore, look at the problems with food safety inspectors this past year) as necessary because that is where the American people are. Banks and Bank employees and owners are not, in their employment relationship, Americans really. All these companies are multinational so you could as easily say that they were Brittish or German. In fact didn’t I hear that the bailout would include foreign banks? Could that mean (Communist) Chinese Banks? The Reeps have been sucking up to China since Nixon opened up the east. Present company excepted of course.
So instead of the country buying these mortgages; AIG etc. can sell them to the Americans who want to live in those houses. I mean they are selling them heavily discounted because of the market so why shouldn’t the people in Santa Ana (and the US) be able to take advantage of that. The Nationalized Bank could give deposit insurance, mortgage loans and business loans and at low interest – the same interest we borrowed it at (I would love to know how much it costs us – do you think we get a volume discount?) or what it cost to print. In time, working with the American people, all houses are sold and resold, if defaulted on, so there should be no loss of all that freshly printed money and it would only go to Americans here at home (big plus).
Within a short time new banks will spring up and as they grow they will be able to take over and we will be able to close the NBank. In fact I’ll bet they know how long it takes to grow a bank and the legislation can be written for that. Whew, good thing they didnt do this by Proposition isnt it?
OMG there are still three months left! AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa
We should have a bloggers debate party – wait, no, that might not work so well. When people know who you are they have this compulsion to out you. Damn you anonynmnity!
Anonyms,
Well I still think they should all be recalled and made to deal with the problem they helped to create. If nothing more than to get there attention on this major issue that they did little or nothing to stop.
As to your last comment we do it’s called, Screwdrivers. Next time around, come on down and join us! We don’t bite and even Vern and I sat next to each other and shared my computer. We really are cordial to each other and meeting the same folks that we spar with is actually a good thing I think. The give and take of conversation allows for greater free expression and understanding. It is however hard sometimes to follow along with so many ideas popping around like trying to catch all the pop corn without the lid on the popper. But the free exchange and where it can go is very good. Communication is essential to a society.
And I am already out there so…but we wont tell if you ask us not to, at least I wouldn’t. It would be nice if some of you would pick and stick with some sort of pen name. We know that some of you are the same person that uses the same log in, we can see it, but the rules say we can’t “out” you. So we already know who you are, sort of. I would hope that all of our blog staff is ethical enough to maintain that.
I am sure that Carl, Larry or Junior will somehow find a spin for McCain’s bizarre backing out of Letterman. The breathless last minute call he made that he was leaving town, only to wind up hanging out with Katie Couric and making veal picatta with Rachael Ray 😉

This election has been crazy! McCain is abaondoning his campaign? Ditching out on the debates? Avoiding letterman? Keeping Sarah shut up?
BAWK BAWK BAWK!
IF he does skip out on the debates, it’s going to be funny to see just what the heck he will be doing at 9 pm on Friday night
Getting a manicure, most likely!
I will speak for Carl, Junior and Larry:
Obama is Muslim, McCain is Christians. Christians are allowed to lie and do what they want, because Jesus loves McCain and will make him President of heaven while Obama is going to hell and will burn forever and ever.
There you have it folks.

Actualy, I like the Biden-Palin idea a lot… and I will speak for myself thank you very much, RV.

OH, Latest latest news: (from Josh)
Annals of Suspension (Lying McCain Watch …)
So let’s see. In the interests of saving the country, John McCain has to cancel the debate. But he’s got time to do prime time interviews on each of the three broadcast networks tonight.

The GOP is up you-know-what creek without a you-know what, this year.
