As the state of California continues to operate without a Budget (D)Senate President Pro-Tem Don Perata and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger may have agreed to a compromise that includes a “temporary” one cent increase in our state sales tax tied to a spending cap on annual expenditures. The proposal also would include a “rainy day” fund for future surpluses.
According to the Sac Bee the proposal does not include powers for mid year budget cuts if the economy tanks. For me that presents a sticking point. Regarding this power Senator Perata is quoted to say: “We’ve always said that we’re not doing anything that gives away the legislative responsibility for appropriating money in the budget,” he said.
The good news is that every budget requires a 2/3rds vote of approval of Both Houses of our state government.
We will have to wait and see reaction from the “big five” as this stalemate continues through the summer.
PS: The “big five” is not a local sporting goods store. That’s a good thing. They might end up buying baseball bats and physically going after each other.

I believe one of your recent posts contained 30 or so comments (a record for you since most of your posts have no comments). 15 of those comments were from YOU commenting on your own comments and the remainder from Hya, MV citizen and another sick groupie of yours.
Back to the relevant question: Do you think those few readers you do have actually believe your lame statement that you were a significant contributor and strategist in getting Ledezma, Reavis, Kelly, Mclean and Ury elected to Mission Viejo city council? Everyone knows and is happy that you LOST all three of your attempts at public office. You can get others elected, but not yourself – that’s comical. Come on Larry, not only are you irrelevant, you are a pariah in the Orange County community at large. Cut out all your whining and paper lion critiques and realize that your invective lies are not being read or listened to i.e. Curtis park project, easelsgate?? and the MV rose parade float. The residents of MV are extremely happy with their quality of life, level of service, community facilities and public safety. Get out of town (preferably permanently) or just stop try to trump up crocodile tear arguments about how dismal your life is in MV because for the rest of us life in MV is paradise.
By the way you are a coward, you didn’t post my research about your life that would give the public pause to believe anything you write or say. Come on coward, transparency you preach, but suppressing your personal damaging life facts is your game. %^$% Hypocrite!!

In our case the “vermin” are the majority of our elected officials in Mission Viejo and a very senior member of our city staff.
