I wonder which Vietnamese American politician is going to rule the roost in a few months here in Orange County? Assemblyman Van Tran is in big trouble. He angered many of his Republican supporters with his ridiculous campaign against Supervisor Janet Nguyen. She has now beat three of his Trannies: Trung Nguyen, Dina Nguyen and Hoa Van Tran. And another of his Trannies, San Jose Councilwoman Madison Nguyen, is facing a recall. Clearly Tran’s empire is crumbling.
But several of his Trannies will be running in November. Westminster Councilman Andy Quach will likely be running for Mayor of his city again. And I believe that Truong “Tomahawk” Diep is running for the Westminster City Council. Trannies Trung Nguyen and Paul Lucas are both running for the Garden Grove City Council. Democrat Tram Linh Ho, whose father is a longtime Tran supporter, is also running for the Garden Grove City Council.
And in the recent election a new Vietnamese leader emerged as Long Pham won a seat on the O.C. Board of Education. Surely he will lead the “Phammies” into battle against the “Trannies” in future elections!
And where does all this leave Supervisor Nguyen? She now is looking at eight years on the O.C. Board of Supervisors. What will she run for in the future? And will she start to put together her own team of “Jannies” to take on the “Trannies?”
Who knows? I do know we will have fun covering all of this here at the Orange Juice!
Where for art thou Bolsavik?!

Like mainstream whites, Latinos, and virtually all ethnic groups, Vietnamese American voters are aligned many different ways. I wouldn’t assume that there are just two factions, the Trannies and Jannies. After all, at the end of the day, both are members of the same party. Those who really pay attention to such things know that the VN registration even before the Bush debacle was trending Decline To State, Democratic and Republican, in that order. Most under 25 VN voters are overwheminlg DTS and Democratic. To be sure, the VN community is registered mostly Rep but the trend has resulted in a chipping away of their once seemingly insurmountable lead.
Art, you also left out one name, GGUSD Trustee KimOanh Nguyen Lam, a Democrat, who is runnig for re-election this year. Dr. Nguyen-Lam was appointed by the state CSU chancellor last year to be director of the entire strategic language program. I think you’d also appreciate the fact that she has conducted herself in an Independent way, refusing to endorse Hoa Van Tran simply because he had a “D” in front of his name.
I think Art is discounting Viet voter’s intelligence. The trend clearly shows viet voters are following individual candidates qualifications rather than a hype or one particular group’s popularity and in fact, everyone know Janet actually has received less viet votes than Dina in this primary.
Assemblyman Van Tran’s leadership has been always revered by the ever- growing asian population in OC.
Maestro..ie TRANNIES:
How could you even continue to lie about Dina getting more viet voters. Check out the Statement of Voters, Janet won 97% of the districts’ precincts…
So either you’re really stupid or just can’t get over the fact that you got your a*# handed to you.
How sad….
Get it right and put down the Janny koolaid/propaganda. Lihn is the local girl who made good (UCLA, Harvard). No sketchy Tranny connections and Lihn is well educated and smart unlike some of the other yahoos you support. So quit giving me the Jany line and get behind Lihn Ho because she is the future for Garden Grove along with Dr. Kim Oahn Nguyen Lam. It will be nice to see canidates who run a positive campaign unlike what we saw in the 1st Supes Race.
Happy to know this “maestro” is the same guy who says Ken has no chance. Certainly Ken has an uphill battle, but who would listen to the opinion of someone so delusional that he thinks Dina beat Janet in the V. community?
PS. Oh, and Linh Ho kicks ass!
Arturo,
What ae you smoking? Guive me some. What an asDon’t you know that the Trannies rule LS? Get real.
