Pajaritos are reporting that Santa Ana Housing & Redevelopment Commissioner Lynette Verino (pictured above, second from left, next to Councilwoman and Mayoral candidate Michele Martinez) is considering running for the seat on the Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Board of Trustees that incumbent Trustee Al Amezcua is vacating in November.
Verino previously ran unsuccessfully for the Santa Ana City Council against Clowncilwoman “Crazy” Claudia Alvarez back in 2004. Verino came in third in that race, behind Roman Reyna, with 8,656 votes, according to Smart Voter. Reyna had 10,720 votes. Alvarez came in first with 26,503 votes.
Verino also won a seat on the Democratic Party of Orange County’s Central Committee in the recent June primary election. She came in fifth, behind Tish Leon, with 4,130 votes, in the 69th Assembly District, according to the O.C. Voter Registrar. The top vote-getter in that race was Zeke Hernandez, with 6,214 votes.
Verino, according to her candidate’s information in her Council race, has an associate’s degree. She claims to be a businesswoman. Apparently she previously served on the Santa Ana Planning Commission and she has been a Vice President of the Washington Square Neighborhood Association.
Verino will need to come up with somewhere between $3,000 and $4,000 for the filing fee for the RSCCD seat in question. Fellow Santa Ana Housing & Redevelopment Commissioner Deborah Vasquez is helping Verino to raise that money. You can contact Vasquez at this link.
I have not heard of any other possible candidates for Amezcua’s RSCCD seat.

Give me a break. That is not a gang sign. She is merely showing off her Harvey purse.
#2 –
Really? With her elbow outstretched and her fingers folded like that? Pfft. I doubt it. She could have used the palm of her hand to hold up the purse. And that’s pretty aggressive body language there.
Don’t forget that she’s an admitted gang member. Your ability to acknowledge even the remote possibility that I’m correct is simply astounding. In fact, I think you’re Michele.
SMS
PS: I have a Ferre purse about the same size. I would not hold it like that. Why would anyone for that matter? If she was just showing off, it was pretty gratuitous.
I guess Muffin-Top hasn’t been jumped out of her F Troop gang. Looking at her hand lets us all know that old habits are hard to quit.
So another Chola friend of hers has decided to run for office. Isn’t this the gal one who used Washington Square letterhead without approval for her council race against Clownia? She hasn’t even filed yet and already we know she’s unethical.
Hey I just saw these girls on the spanish t.v. show Jose Sin Censura “La Revancha de las Cholas”. They aren’t the Nacas. They’re the Cholas.
Sarah,
Wow. Not a good strategy for a mayoral candidate…
I am amazed. You have stooped to a new low. This has got to be a record for you two. Whats next Art, are you going to have sarah hijack Michelles Website and have it redirected to chola/China gay porn sites and photo shop Michelle and Lin in the picture? Your belly must be bright red and raw from all the slithering you and sarah do in the sewers.
#7 –
Well just give me a pitchfork and call me the Serpent Queen. Yee-haw!
Every woman knows that if you hold your shoulder up the way Michele is, your purse isn’t going anywhere. She didn’t need to hold it up with twisted fingers, but apparently, that’s the cover story.
Oh, and a Harvey purse? $50 on eBay. Not exactly a showpiece.
SMS
#7,
She has a website? We’ll have to take a look at it…
First of all, that’s not a Harvey’s purse, it’s a Coach purse. But again you people have no idea about anything… YOU PEOPLE NEED TO GROW UP…
#10,
I would submit that the person who needs to “grow up” is the one displaying questionable hand gestures.
Sarah,
You just showed your total and complete lack of character. You alledged she is throwing a gang sign. How lame is that. Then you insert a satiracal song to try and accentuate your point. lame, lame lame.
How low exactly will you go? I guess there is no limit to how low you and Art are willing to go. Im waiting to see how you and Mr Pendoza will try and connect the gang affiliation between Michelle and Lin as some sort of regional multi-ethinc sleeper cell of gang bangin politicos.
#12,
You would think that the DPOC would have learned its lesson after the Hoa Van Tran cholo scandal.
You certainly can’t blame people for thinking, at this point, that the DPOC is the cholo party.
Most people in Santa Ana deplore the gangs. The cholos prey on their own. As such it is ridiculous for any political candidate to display any connection or affection for gang culture.
I have personally seen Martinez flash gang signs in the past. She was joking, but in Santa Ana gangs are no joke.
Rest assured that our despicable Mayor will be reminding the voters about Michele’s gang affiliations, past and present.
DPOC has entered the building. I’m just curious how they got that BIG spin machine to fit through that little door.
If anyone thinks my pointing out that Michele was involved with gangs and uses her hands in ‘questionable’ ways is harsh, then wait until Pulido gets his turn!
I have a feeling you ‘ain’t seen nothing yet.’

Sarah, and Art,
You two are amazing. I have never seen two homo sapiens leap to such conclusions on such minute infomation available to them. You remind me of the old puritans who used to brand people witches and kill them in order to prove they are inncent.
#!5,
Except that we are not killing anyone. I would concur however that Michele is certainly doing quite a bit of damage to her campaign. Bad enough that she admitted to selling drugs, in an interview shortly after she was elected, barely, to the Santa Ana City Clowncil. But flashing gang signs is just ill-advised. I can only imagine what Pulido will do this this kind of material…
‘You remind me of the old puritans who used to brand people witches and kill them in order to prove they are inncent.‘
Overkill much? Puh-leeze. I’m pointing out something I see and the readers can make their own determinations about the likelihood that I’m right. I concede I’m not 100% sure, but the circumstantial evidence is plentiful. I’m pretty confident in my case, and as I said before, if she can’t handle this accusation from me, then Pulido’s really going to ruin her!

#12 – I totally agree with you. It’s pathetic that these two are singing the same old tune when it comes to Michele’s past. It’s getting old people. And then they need to attack the people that associate with her.
Also, don’t you think that if Michele was flashing a gang sign it would be the letter “F” as in “F-TROOP?” Sarah, if you’re so hip on reading gang signs, which gang is she represeting in this photo? By the way, I was looking at a certain person’s MySpace and at first glance I could have sworn the women in the photo looked like a chola herself. But naaaah…..
Art,
You should be more concerned with other more prodctive things. Michelle and Lin are not currenlty gang memebrs. They got their lives together and are contributing to society. This witch hunt is going no where.
There it is. #19 confirms the Muffin Top Triplets are former gang members. What a joke Santa Tijuana has become. The best the city has to offer for candidates are former gang members.
Santa Tijuanera, a lot of folks on this blog, starting with Art and Thomas, criticize their town a lot, but you can tell it’s because they love Santa Ana and want to improve it.
Reading your comments over the months though, it’s different, there’s nothing there but contempt. So to you I’d say, why the hell don’t you move to Coto or Laguna?
#20
Our current sitting President is a former alcholic who at one time was a coke user. And most elected Republicans engage in sexual escapdes that are unacceptable to most folks.
What is your point, pinhead?
#20 – It seems to me that you don’t know what the heck you are talking about. First of all, at least two people in the photograph are not part of the so-called “Muffin Top Triplets” our fellow bloggers are talking about. Second, I know for a fact that at least two of the women were never in a gang. It seems to me that you are generalizing these women because, a. They are all hispanic; and b. They are associating with Michele. You remind me of one of those gossipy neighbors who doesn’t know what they are talkin about. If you think you can run this city better, then why don’t you run for Mayor.
As Jose Sin Censura would say, “Tranquilo”. My opinions are exactly that, mine. Some people find them funny. #23. I’m not trying to run your city. Just having some fun on the blog.
Don’t let them get you down Tijuanera.
As a gang member of the Chilles Verdes 13 Gang of Santa Ana, I am coming forward to identify her as the most feared and ruthless gang member “Trigger” of the notorious “sanchicha 13 gang” also of Santa Ana. There have been many occasions I witnessed her in violent gang activity towards my gang. I am shaking as I type for fear of retaliation for my coming forward.
