Prevatt already did a good write-up of this on the Liberal OC, and I was just ragging on that blog yesterday for passing on press releases, but OJ friend Heather Pritchard really wanted me to boast about the latest endorsements snagged by her way-cool husband Gary Pritchard, candidate for the 33rd State Senate District — Fullerton’s two prominent Democrats Mayor Sharon Quirk and Councilwoman Pam Keller (above) as well as the Orange County Employees’ Association. Since Chris already did such a good job, including rave quotes about Gary from OCEA General Manager Nick Berardino, I thought my post would focus on how nice-looking our OC Democrats are.
(Gary’s district includes Lake Forest, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Orange, Villa Park, Tustin, Silverado, most of Fullerton, and parts of Buena Park and Anaheim. He’s running against the extreme rightwing immigrant basher Mimi Walters. Here is Gary’s website.)
A good looking group there I must say, but Gary needs to lose those glasses. Why look like Clark Kent when you can be Superman? He has a serious ‘Dean Cain thing’ going on.
One question though Art: Is being ‘way-cool’ a reason to vote for someone? I mean, is that a new political term that I haven’t picked up on yet? 😛

Art? You mean Vern! Prevatt already went on at length about WHY Gary is way-cool, so I just made the shorthand version and linked to Chris! (with nice pix, natch.)
Oh wow!
I’m sorry Vern. Geez. I guess I read right past the byline!
This story has a certain Art Pedroza flair to it though. I see you’ve developed your sense or snark. 😛 Sorry again! Blonde moment.

Snark is my middle name, or so I had thought.
My younger brother Vern.
Did I miss the Juice Board meeting? When did the Juice create a politician beauty contest?
And dream on. Your statement “(Gary’s district includes Lake Forest, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Mission Viejo, …”
Vern. As live in the 33rd SD let me correct your statement. As of today OUR Senator is Dick Ackerman. Next year it will be Mimi Walters.
Good luck!

It’s still Gary’s district. And Mimi doesn’t deserve a Juice Brother’s support.
Brother Vern.
How is it Gary’s district?
It is Gary’s district just as it is your district, Juice Brother. Jesus Christ!
Vern,
Now don’t be bringing Jesus into this! 🙂
Thanks Vern, it’s my district too by the way and Charlotte’s, my oh my.
SMS – Gary refuses to wear contacts, so the glasses stay. I’m so used to seeing him with them though, he looks a bit weird without them.
Thanks again OJ for posting these endorsements, they are important to us.
If Larry were not such a tireless community activist, I would think the above exchange was indicative of an aristocratic strain in his Republican philosophy — the district “belongs” to the politicians, not the citizens???
Vern.
“After further review” I will concede your point.
