Where would you rather live? Anaheim’s Platinum Triangle, which “blends leading-edge business, high-salary employment, world champion entertainment and exciting residential neighborhoods, creating a unique opportunity in the heart of Orange County,” according to the Anaheim Platinum Triangle’s website. Or Santa Ana’s City Place, where “sophisticated townhomes offer a blend of light, space, intimacy and quality. Seven floor plans accommodate any kind of lifestyle, and each ushers you into a lush private fountain court,” according to the City Place website.
The Anaheim Platinum Triangle’s developer, Windstar Communities LLC, is holding a one-day sale on its condos, as it is stuck with more than half of the project’s 390 units, on July 26. Prices will be cut on 58 of the remaining 200 units by 24 to 29 percent. Price reductions will range from $80,000 to $132,000, according to the O.C. Register. That means you will be able to buy a 535 sq. ft. loft for $243,000, or a 2 bedroom unit for $402,000, instead of the regular prices of $341,400 a loft and $533,600 for the 2 bedroom unit.
Now let’s compare those deals to the City Place, which is developed by notorious developer Robert Bisno. He is offering units with up to three bedrooms from the mid $500,000’s to the high $700,000’s. According to an online listing, a one bedroom townhouse sells for $689,990.
Santa Ana features the worst school district in Orange County. Crime in Santa Ana is out of control, particularly gang warfare, graffiti, and even carjackings. Santa Ana’s City Clowncil is the WORST in Orange County. They have raised water rates TWICE in nine months. One of the Clowncil Members, Sal Tinajero, voted to increase sewage rates in Orange County by 60% over the next five years. And residents of Santa Ana are stuck paying for three bond measures, with more on the way. And Santa Ana has only one public library.
Anaheim has a Mayor who actually leads, unlike Santa Ana’s Mayor, Miguel Pulido. Anaheim has a huge tax base, with Disneyland and both the Anaheim Stadium and the Honda Pond. Anaheim’s City Council actually is functional as opposed to the Clowncil in Santa Ana. Anaheim has SIX public libraries! And Anaheim residents now pay LESS for water than Santa Ana’s residents, even though Santa Ana has its own water table.
So where would YOU rather live?

It’s no surprise that Santa Ana has the worst schools in the county and a city that’s riddled with an upswing in crime. That’s what you get with Pulido & his cabal running the show!
Dan Young, Mike Metzler, Rob Richardson, Audrey Noji, Claudia Alvarez, Sal Tinajero and Vince Sarmeineto have no interest in this community, except to rape and pillage for monetary gain.
Wake up voters. There’s a reason they want to keep SA voters illerate.
Let’s put this all in perspective, first of all political figures come and go. (Also City Place is in the Orange school district – do your homework before making assumptions) Location and product remain the same.
Would you rather live in an apartment style home with someone above, below and on 2 sides of you, park in a parking structure and have to haul 2-3 loads of groceries up the elevator, not to mention watch for someone stalking the parking garage. Or do you want a townhome with only 1 neighbor to the sides and direct access to your own 2 car garage – not to mention up to 1800 sqft for the price.
With all of the ammenities of City Place commercial area, Main Place Mall for shopping, close proximity to every freeway – there is no better location than City Place.
The one bedroom being sold in the $600K’s is a TRUE loft with a retail space below. So you are buying a home and business opportunity. Since the value of a property is based on location, then I would put my money on City Place
“there is no better location than City Place”
Really? Then why is no one buying these? It’s been about 2 years, and they still appear about %75 empty.
City Place is a great location for people who are looking to live in a more urban lifestyle. The freeways are at the best location, you have shopping at your fingertips which makes this place super convenient in that aspect. Pricing is still a little bit high, and the agents aren’t really willing to negotiate the price the say. And since you are literally borderline with the city of orange, you actually fall into the orange school district and NOT santa ana’s school district.
So city place will fall into the orange school and not sata ana’s school district ?????
Can someone vertify this please.
I has been there at the city place and the seller (romayne, wayne miller, and another lady) was so dishonest and so gruff. Must pre-qualify with denise at wellfargo and that Denise’wellfargo is a very low , dishonest person that make you run away!. I hope that I can meet another seller at the city place as I really want to bought the property at city place as I hope that farmer market not turn to Mexican’market as I knonw that farmer market soon will turn to something else as you see that market has no customer at all!!!!
Please help if someone known another seller person that that city place.

Kim,
try placing your request at the Irvine Housing blog, under the forums and under Orange county real estate and see what you get. I think you have to register to post at the forums, but it is free and it is easy to do.
The IHB has thousands of readers a day. Orange Juice has about 1.2k per day, so you stand a better chance at getting your questions answered if you try the IHB which is real estate focused.
I think your instincts are good about this deal. It smells fishy and if they are trying to intimidate you with their anger and rudeness… buyer beware!
thank for your information but everybody
knowning that those people at IHB are seller, broker and loan officer…or….. They are all disguise and trick…readers.
I tried to locate decent seller at the cityplace.
Also, everybody knowning that the Mothers Market at the cityplace soon be close because they don’t
have enought customer….I been there at the Mothers Market for a full weeks / 18 hours a days and notice that they has so less customer to survive. If they close then it will be Asian Market or Mexican Market ? Please give advice.
THANKSSSSSSSSS
#7,
I have maintained from the beginning the premise that the Mother’s Market at CityPlace will eventually become a mercado. Quite frankly, they should have opened a Vons or a Ralphs there. Or a mercado. There is no market in Santa Ana for overpriced vegetarian stuff.
Dear Art Pedroza, it is too small for Vons or Ralphs. If it become Mercado then Can it survice at that location ? The rent overthere is expensive……
If it became Asian Market then it will has alots of rat/cockroach around there guarantee.
Forsure mothers’cityplace will closing soon or later.
Renting fee was too expensive for Asian and Mexican Markets…
SO WHAT WILL HAPPEN ? VACANT Forever !!!!
Kim,
There are 43 units at the courtyards
with 12 guess parking, 70 units at the parks
with only 13 guess parking.
Most of the units offer 3 bedroom…etc.
For 113 unit with 25 guess parking plus “no
parking” at memory ln, lawson way and the
main is seriously a big problem for
residential at the city park. Also, remember
that you can not park at the business center
or at the Mothers the Market overnight.
The Mothers Market is a nice supermakert but
their business is not too good at the Santa
Ana City Place plus the weak economy as of
today, therefore it can be close down but
not at the present time because of the lease.
Without the Mothers Market then the property
at the Main City Park is really hard to sell
and the price will down if the Mother
market move out in the future.
It might not be Asian or Mercado marker because
of the location, but it can be somekind
of stores (Super 99 stores; T-J mark..etc)
Courtyards are the almost sold out. mother the market is very busy all the time. geisha house now open. lots of sales of townhomes. you people don’t know what you talk about.
susie,
And what pray tell did those units sell for? Weren’t they auctioned at huge discounts?
I have been in Mothers several times. Always the workers outnumber the clients. Not good.
Geisha House is open, but while their Happy Hour business is doing well, their dinner service is not. I hope that they continue to grow and prosper, but I think that all of the businesses at the City Place are in a bind. Santa Ana simply is not a good market to be in, period.
oh yeah…sale agents really good…sell lots of houses!
the courtyards sold out last few weeks except plan 3 (all the plan 1,2,4,5,6 and 7 only left the model house and the units at the corner lot) because they has low down the price to only 399k for plan 7 (the biggest plan on the courtyards – the price for unit 7 last years is around 750-850k). All the small shop has business except the Mothers Markets. The Cityplace use the mothers market to sold their units, after sold out all the units then Mothers market are free to leave for good.
All the sale person or agents at the cityplace are dishonest people and low class, period.
Olson homes or Anaheim colony park are better and professional. Buy the house in Anaheim then the city of Anaheim will give the qualify buyer loan of 80k with 0.03% interest for 30 years.
This was funny. Everybody arguing that Mother’s Market would not survive because it is too expensive.
It was the lofts that were too damn expensive not the vegetarian dishes at Mother’s Market (though they are too pricy for me also).
To which “high salary employment” are the developers of Plutonium, er, I mean Platinum Triangle referring? Weren’t all the employers in the (formerly industrial) area CHASED OUT and BULLDOZED to clear the LAND for them? Or are they counting the celebrity sports figures from the nearby Stadium who may, by chance, buy a unit for a party crib / crash pad?
