Will Van Tran keep his word?

Will Assemblyman Van Tran keep his word? He promised at the last OC GOP Central Committee meeting to support Supervisor Janet Nguyen if she won on June 3. And she did. “Nguyen’s victory Tuesday was her second win over a candidate backed by Tran and his machine,” as the L.A. Times put it.

Watch the video above and see for yourself what Tran had to say. Will he back off and leave Supervisor Nguyen alone now? Already Tran has seen two of his Trannies defeated, three if you count Hoa Van Tran. And Tran’s standing in his own community has suffered as a result. In fact Tran has also alienated himself from his own party! ALL of the legislative candidates he endorsed in the primary lost. Not good for Tran.

And not good for Nguyen either. Consider this excerpt from the L.A. Times:

“When there are so many Vietnamese elected officials, there should be a sense of pride for the community,” said Dung Hoang, 62, of Midway City, an unincorporated island near Little Saigon. “But instead, they are framing each other as communists, and that makes me very distressed. It splits the community.”

It is time for Tran to bury the hatchet with Nguyen. I know she would be happy to do so. But he needs to stop being a bully first. Will he keep his word? We’ll see.
