There comes a time when candidates for elected office should pull the plug. We have all heard the on-going “spin” of Senator Clinton who can be credited for being a fighter. Her only problem is that in this case, competing against Senator Obama, she will not be the winner.
The following text comes from the May 28th AP.
WASHINGTON (AP) – A Democratic Party rules committee has the authority to seat some delegates from Michigan and Florida but not fully restore the two states as Hillary Rodham Clinton wants, according to party lawyers.
Democratic National Committee rules require that the two states lose at least half of their convention delegates for holding elections too early, the party’s legal experts wrote in a 38-page memo.
The memo was sent late Tuesday to the 30 members of the party’s Rules and Bylaws Committee, which plans to meet Saturday at a Washington hotel. The committee is considering ways to include the two important general election battlegrounds at the nominating convention in August, and the staff analysis says seating half the delegates is “as far as it legally can” go.

Great post, I agree wholeheartedly. May 6th was her Waterloo and she LOST. She failed to do what she needed to do on that day. She will try and spin that she won the national “popular vote.” But the only scenario she does win is adding in Michigan, which Obama was not even on the ballot. If he was on that ballot he would likely have had a unsurpassable lead in that as well. Considering also she keeps trying to change the way the national popular vote should be tallied, it goes to show how desparate she and her camp are.
A lot of us Obama supporters feel our guy is inevitable at this point, and don’t want to alienate Hillary’s supporters any more because we’ll all need to be together and enthusiastic to defeat McSame… At this point she might as well stay in for the early June primaries so that every state can have fun voting, I just hope she and her people can stop saying stupid things and pushing GOP talking points.
Why would any Republican want Hillary to throw in the towel? Go Hillary!
Why doesn’t Obama throw in the towel? Neither have the number of delegates to be the Democratic nominee.
Let the nine innings play out.
Obama has all those Republicans who registered as demo’s for the primary to thanks for his great showing. Smart play, use a demo to stop a demo.
BO didn’t bother with Florida because he knows it is another state he couldn’t win.
HRC and BO are running neck and neck. Why should HRC bow out instead of BO? Either will kick McCain’s ass in November. All true democrat supporters will vote democrat. Those who will change their party loyalty if their guy doesn’t get the nomination, can’t see the big picture.
Democrats not see the big picture? Nooooooooooo!
Keep hanging in there Hillary. Obama may just help you pay off your huge campaign debts and appoint you as the next member of the US Supreme Court. That is IF he defeats John McCain in November and IF you can make up with his bride Michelle.
The real question is whether or not Hillary wants Obama to lose in Nov so that she can run against McCain in 2012.
Just some random thoughts heard on the streets.
If HRC wants to win in 2012, she has to win in 2008. Or if BO wins in 2008, he must prove himself in order to win in 2012. Half of the dem voters know HRC can put this country back on its feet. The other half are hopeful BO can as well.
It would be a person’s political demise to deliberately screw up their party. HRC and BO are in it to win. And each believe they will win.
Maybe you should see a psychiatrist about those “random thoughts” /voices you are hearing. They sound whacky.
Mary. Let me suggest your reading Saddlebakc Church senior Pastor Rick Warren’s book entitled “The Purpose Driven Life” which opens by saying “it’s not about you.” That’s my thoughts about Hillary, not yourself.
For her to obliquely bring the issue of the Robert Kennedy assassination into this primary fight was unconscionable.
Larry. “It ain’t over ’til it’s over.” That is all the Kennedy statement implies. Maybe those who want to read more into it should check theirselves.
And regarding: “it’s not about you”…
Anyone wanting to take over after Bush administration is a saint. The next president is going to be working their ass off. This country has to ammend relationships, build an economy, recreate business practices…
Mary. I do miss former Laker announcer Chick Hearn who is famous for saying:
“This game’s in the refrigerator: the door is closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter’s getting hard, and the Jell-O’s jigglin’!:
I will let his famous comments speak for this Democratic primary election!
As we are approaching the NBA finals I felt his quote was appropriate.
