What a waste of time. This Commission and its attempt to create a hate crime industry is an example of a government program that should be shut down.
The commission found that hate crimes are down all over – but Santa Ana kids keep killing EACH OTHER. Is this a fact worth having a commission for – or do parents need to do a better job? Or do kids just need to have more intelligence and a sense of personal responsibility – not learned from school BTW. I was a latch-key kid myself, and have never felt the need to join a gang or to do drugs. Did government help me make that decision? No – it was my own personal responsibility. I knew right from wrong. I think kids are just too self-absorbed today to think enough to get a greater societal message that they should do right just for the sake of doing right. Sorry to burst your bubble, but government cannot fix that one.
