I just received a very important press release. Rancho Santa Margarita (RSM) Mayor Neil Blais has just received a key endorsment in his quest to replace termed out Assemblyman Todd Spitzer in the 71st AD
Orange County Taxpayers Association Endorses Blais for Assembly
(Rancho Santa Margarita) – Further strengthening his record of fighting for California’s taxpayers, today Neil Blais announced the endorsement of the Orange County Taxpayers Association (OCTaxPAC) in his race for the open 71st Assembly District.
In OCTaxPAC’s letter of endorsement, Reed Royalty states the following:
“OCTaxPAC’s mission is to ensure that taxes and tax-supported programs are ‘fair, understandable, cost-effective, and good for business.’ Your service as Mayor of the City of Rancho Santa Margarita indicates that you share those goals.”
“OCTaxPAC is convinced you are uniquely qualified to help keep the state’s spending lobby in check.”
“The Orange County Taxpayers Association Political Action Committee (OCTaxPAC) is proud to support your campaign for the 71st Assembly District.”
“Unlike Jeff Miller’s recent endorsement, OCTaxPAC cannot be rigged by insider games,” said Blais Spokesman Bill Cizmadia. “This is a rock solid endorsement by those who know both candidates. With Miller’s long list of tax and fee increases while on the Corona Council, clearly Neil Blais will be the better vote for taxpayers.”
Neil Blais is currently serving his second term as Mayor of Rancho Santa Margarita, where he’s earned a reputation for being a tough fiscal watchdog and champion of conservative causes. Neil is also a fixture in the Orange County Republican Party, where he served for four years as the representative on the 71st District Central Committee and is currently a member of the Orange County Lincoln Club.
Neil was a member on the Rancho Santa Margarita cityhood committee and played an integral role in RSM’s incorporation.
Has Mr. Blais seen the Capital broom closet that will be his office? The choices some people make.
If he receives Lance MacLean’s Mission Viejo endorsement he is dead meat.

Having visited Republican freshman, in the Democratic controlled state Legislature, I have seen some of their broom closets. Hopefully, Neil will spend most of his time outside the closet interacting with his peers to promote the same fiscal sanity that he and his RSM colleagues have demonstrated on behalf of their citizens.
