There is an interesting article in the O.C. Register about the Trannies (followers of Assemblyman Van Tran) attack on a local newspaper in Little Saigon. These fascists are freaked out over a picture that they think cast aspersions on a flag that no longer represents anything. South Vietnam is gone. It won’t ever be back. When will the Trannies get over that?
Kudos to Anh Do, editor of the Nguoi Viet Daily News, for standing firm against the Trannies (see picture above, from the OC Weekly). In fact she is suing them! They are obviously trying to run her paper out of business, for the flimsiest of reasons. They need to get a grip. This is the U.S. We believe in freedom of the press. It matters here.
In fact it matters so much that L.A. Times columnist Dana Parsons also has written about the shameful protests against Nguoi Viet Daily News. Read his comments here. Parsons writes that Do has said that “she has received death threats, that the paper has gotten bomb threats and that it will produce, if necessary, witnesses to testify about harassment outside the building.”
The Trannies need to figure out that just because they don’t like a picture, or some other demonstration of the commie flag they hate, is not a good reason to flip out. That is not how we do things here in the U.S. If you don’t like something you can write about it in a blog, or send a letter to your local newspaper. You can even protest, but doing so for weeks on end and threatening people in the process is not cool.
Freedom matters here. The sooner the Trannies figure this out, the better. Assemblyman Van Tran should intercede and call his dogs off. The protest is led by a guy named Ky Ngo. In this article, Ngo has this to say about Tran, “
Arturo,
Obviously, you don’t know anything about the Viet community. You don’t know what you tried to portray on your own blog.
Did you ask Janet and her gangs including Nick Lecong, Andrew Do? All three just wanted to align themselves with the protesters and showed up with them last week.
Again, Arturo, you are such a liar.
i remember ky, he also led that protest in front of tony lam’s rest. years ago. what they dont realize is that by behaving this way these people themselves are acting like communists. the very thing they feel they are fighting to protect the rest of us (actually them) from. i hope the newspaper sues them good.
jose s.,
first you don’t know how communists are acting. there is no such comparison between the protesters’ behavior and the communists. is it still a first amendment to protest?
anonymous 6:21, according to the actions of many in the vietnamese community there is no first amendment. of course they wont say it but they sure as hell show how they feel by the many threats some of them make to whatever might bother them like the truth or a flag. in this country if somebody wants to hang a ho chi min picture in their home or business thats their right, if a newspaper wants to expose a politicians corrupt wife no matter how bad it might look thats their right, if a newspaper wants to show a picture of an american artist’s “communist” work thats their right, if a college wants to display the flags of the nations thats their right, when students who wish to protest john mccain for calling vietnamese people gooks thats their right,if a museum in santa ana wants to show an art exibit from china thats their right. what isnt their right is to make death threats or kicking, hitting and spitting on people because they seem to think that they are fighting “communism”. what a lot of these protesters just dont get is that we have these rights in this country and we need to protect them not trash them. if it was up to some of these politicians and protesters those newspapers and art exibits would have shut down and who knows what would have happened to those people who they viewed as a threat. what they also dont see that is most shocking is that they themselves are the threat. they themselves are the ones who hate freedom and how sometimes in this country we have to deal with things that we might not like. what has happened is this nonsense has gotten out of control look at what took place at irvine valley college a few weeks ago. is that freedom? and as far as calling these protesters and politicians “communists” thats just how i see them, i see them as a threat to this country and to our freedoms. so let me ask you something anon.6:21, when these protesters call these so called people who they feel threatened by “communists” do they not know what they are talking about? also, why do you post as “annoymous”?
#4, I hope for the peaceful resoultion, having said that, the Nquoi Vietnamese newspaper needs to be more sensitive of their own community readers…as other ethnic papers do.
Nquoi paper has been well known to intentionally provoke anti- communist readers under the cover of “freedom of speech”….personally, if Nquoi paper refuses to serve the wishes of it’s main readers…….Nquoi should change both the name and it’s clientele for good.
Anh Do can go to Utah and try to publish a newspaper against mormonism ….under the shield of “freedom of speech”…. and see what will happen to her paper.
be more “sensitive”? are you kidding me?!see thats the problem, if you dont like what the newspaper is writing dont read it. anonymous you sound to me like a communist yourself. are you? because you sure sound like one to me.
Jose de Cabeza Dura, the most Viet immigrants are anti-communists due to…… horrific past experiences with communist regime and if their own local Viet paper supports commie’s agenda (even only the appearance itself), surely people will get upset!!! Comprendes?
umm, no comprende, i hate communists too but in this country we have freedom of the press and if they and you dont like it leave. comprende?
We all agree that Anh Do is doing a great job in this important transitional period, a giant leap from the past ugly administration.
The demonstrators need to understand the effort and the improvements made under new leadership headed by intelligent Ahn Do.
The informed Viet community members acknowledge that there is a significant degree of shady working relationship btween Janet and these wild demonstrators.
