Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez invited her constituents today, via email, to attend “The Climate Project,” a presentation on global warming. Her timing was curious given that “General Motors vice chairman Bob Lutz (pictured above) recently was quoted by news services around the world as declaring global warming “a crock of s—.” (Baltimore Sun).

It’s either getting warmer or cooler – change is the only constant with our climate. Since our last ice age peak the sea level has risen by about 150 ft and we’ve got another 50 ft to go so we should be able to deal with it without the draconian measures being proposed.
Climate Orthodoxy Perpetrates a Hoax

Radio news this morning (Tues, Feb. 26) is reporting that North America presently has the largest snow pack in 40 years, and that the Arctic ice has grown this winter to where it was several years ago. Also, that the average temperature in North America is down 1/2 degree from a year ago. So, if one took a look around today one would not see much to be alarmed about. Of course, we all need to stay tuned but the jury is still out on the topic of global warming in this blogger’s eyes.
Actually it’s a new age religion.
Faith based, with a few facts thrown in just to be able to lend some credibility, led by the left reverend Al Gore and his band of merry carbon credit salespersons, happy to take your indulgences. While they fatten themselves, the rest of us will be thrown under their black SUV’s as they drive from their mansions, that use enough electricity to run several of our homes, to their private jets, so they can fly off to far flung destinations, to discuss how much of our hard earned wages they will steal by levying additional taxes. They continue to persuade us daily that our wicked ways are killing the earth, while they continue to live theirs. Like other religions they plant the seeds of guilt, waiting for the seeds to take root.
The popular ecologists of the vaunted learning institutions are fed by grants for research. They want and need to be able to justify their paychecks, so they study the subjects that will, in turn generate news and further grants by those wishing to prove that indeed the sky is falling. Facts are simply very scant on whether or not the deeds of man are at all complicit in any kind of long term global climatic changes. Even if we wanted to change the climate, thinking we have that kind of power is an incredible stretch of imagination. Much less that they have the intelligence to be able to control our earth’s climatic propensity, to even be able to point it in the right direction is pure and simple folly. We are not that powerful and they sure don’t know how it all works.
Remember that the weather predictions for a few days isn’t even right more than about 60-70% of the time. Heck they can’t even figure out the short term weather models much less that of the longer term and much more complicated climate models. Climate predictions by scholars are no better than that of a groundhog. Reading bark beetles and many other folk methods are as good as most of the scientific model makers. Since accurate observations have been documented for a very short period of time from the earth’s perspective, how much do the “experts” actually know or understand. Seemingly not very much.
Could we be better stewards of our planet? Of course we could! Should they use fear-mongering, panic and lies to do it? No! But when you have a veritable communication empire to push the public to a completely faith based assumption, that they are continually told is based on facts, and can control how the “heretics” are regarded, as uncaring, unthinking, and just plain stupid, why not. That is ultimately what they want, it’s all about control and power, which leads to the money…
Ask the largest religion in the world what their combined assets are worth, I think you would be astounded how much they has stored away in their underground vaults and catacombs. Not that this wealth or power would ever be abused by those, who think they know better, how all of us should live. I’m sure that there would never be any abuses of power in faith based organizations that espouse to want to help everyone. I’m just as sure that history and experience would bear that out as well. Since there have NEVER been abuses of power or wealth in the name of god, have there? Never, even by those who claimed to know god and believe they would be judged by god and might be messing with eternal damnation, they believed they were right when they took advantage of their power and position. Or they were lying. Take your pick.
Sound scary? It should, it is.
