The Santa Ana Business Bank is having what appears to be yet another grand opening this Thursday, November 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., at 1666 N. Main St., in Santa Ana.
A friend forwarded an email to me touting the grand opening. Oddly, the email invites those who have questions about the grand opening to directly email the Chairman of the bank, Al Amezcua.
It is interesting that this bank is opening up just as the City of Santa Ana is touting its Renaissance Plan. I wonder if this bank will be funding any projects in the area affected by this plan?
It will be interesting to note if Santa Ana Councilman Carlos “Space Commander” Bustamante remembers to recuse himself when voting on issues that pertain this bank, as he is a board member.
UPDATE:
I received a call from Mr. Amezcua tonight. He says his bank will NOT be involved in any of the Renaissance Plan projects. I am pleased to hear that! He also is anxious to have a good turnout at his grand opening. All Orange Juice readers are invited to attend. Just send an email to RSVP.
Seems like Bustamonte has been trying to keep a LOW profile to avoid the O.J. team lately. He’s hoping no one with any political juice and cash runs against him. That’s what he’s telling insiders anyway.
Speaking of Renaissance Plan; it would have been nice if the city made them restore the brick exterior of their building rather than paint it again. I’m sure the building would really look sharp minus the tan paint covering up the nice brick work.
Poster 1,
Darn! I guess that means the Santa Ana Business Bank won’t be giving away any “Space Commander” bobble-head dolls on Thursday? Is it too late for them to order some “Crazy Claudia” dolls instead?
Have forwarded this gracious invitation to SPIN, the organization that feeds the homeless in the Santa Ana Civic Center on daily basis (now that I have your attention, I confess I have not forwarded this to SPIN, as tempting as it is!)
I have seen Bustamante at the Santa Ana Business Bank alot during the day. Doesn’t he work for the County of Orange? I guess he gets a lot of time off from his job to be able to go to the Santa Ana Business Bank all of the time. I would love to see what his timesheet looks like.
