Former president FDR’s comments on sending American boys into foreign wars

Having the inside of your house painted can be very traumatic, especially when you/they move your “stuff” and you needs weeks to find it. As I attempt to bring my office back into operation I found the following campaign statement by former president Franklin Delano Roosevelt that I now share with you.
This quote is attributed to his campaign speech in Boston MA on October 30th 1940.

“And while I am talking to you mothers and fathers, I give you one more assurance. I have said this before, but I shall say it again and again and again: Your boys are not going to be sent into any foreign wars.”

And for Juice readers.

How many Americans died at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941? 2,400

How many American GI’s died in the Second World War? 406,000

How many Americans died on 9-11-01 in the Twin Towers attack? 2,986

How many American GI’s have died in the GWOT in Afghanistan and Iraq? 3,835

Think about FDR’s “assurance” as you question the actions taken by president Bush.
