The Republicans over at Red County/OC Blog are frothing at the mouth over the impending recall of Orange County Treasurer Chriss Street. How soon they forget! Their machine foisted this guy on us.
Sure, the OC GOP Central Committee did not endorse him. But take a look at who did:
Hon. John M. W. Moorlach
People change…just ask about Congressman William Jefferson from
Louisiana….he didn’t always have
$100,000 in his freezer! Did he?
I’m no fan of the OC GOP either, Art…but enough already!
You might as well write “See all my previous posts on the OC Republican Party.”
What’s the point of coming to this blog if its just the same old stuff?
Do your research Art. The OCGOP did NOT support Street.
Hon. John Hanna
guys you know art he will never bash his party , what you see no this blog from art is the same crap blame republicans for every thing that is wrong in the world . hey art how about a post FROM YOU on the low approval rating of the democratic congress. were waiting zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Poster 2,
Not true. Did you not read my post yesterday where I ripped Ackerman AND Perata for not supporting a move to prevent the wives of legislators from claiming bogus salaries for alleged work on their husband’s campaigns?
Or the many posts I have written taking the bad Democrats on the Santa Ana City Council to task?
As an independent, I am free to launch scuds against members of both the major parties, and I do on a daily basis.
I do not support either the Reeps or the Dems. I support those politicians of any party who actually care for the public good – and who do not get elected in order to stuff their wallets and those of their friends.
Flowerszzz,
Yes, I know. I said that in the post in question. But who cares what the party itself did, the party machinery was all out for Street.
Put on your reading glasses and read my post again…
Poster 5,
What party? I am an independent – I am filed as a DTS – decline to state. I have no political party to speak of.
BTW, Congress has poor ratings because half of them voted to start a stupid unnecessary war with Iraq and the other half can’t seem to do anything about it – which has angered the far left base of the Democratic Party. See my post about the clowns who protested at Loretta’s office yesterday.
Art,
You are absolutely right on this.
As posted elsewhere, Where were the “Fiscally Conservative Republicans” on thisone.
The truth is the turned a blind eye to to this important but seemingly overlooked position.
As for the Winships comment, this guy did’nt change he was tooling around Alba Alabama in a chauffered Cadillac with the workers dough LONG BEFORE he was elected.
Members of the County GOP and BOS new that and either ignored it or simply played politics.
I defy Ron and Anna to talk to the people Street burned and then defend him.
Street is one of the GOP’s good ol’ boys. How anyone could have supported him after the Fruehauf information surfaced is astounding. He was paying for Botox shots with someone else’s money, for Pete’s sake! He demonstrated he has absolutely no respect for what belongs to others, and many in the GOP power club supported him anyway.
Well Art if the ones you list as his endorsers are the “machine” you keep eluding to…..I can honestly say you are lost my dear. Are these the guys you are always eluding to that I am a tool for? LOL I can not stand any of those listed – except Hanna and he is a Dem.(go figure) Besides the fact that you mention several time the OCGOP, even in your heading…which is not true. But then again I would not expecting anything less from you but a STRETCH of the truth. Perhaps it would have been more appropriate for you to list them as your enemies instead.

Dude….HELLO………………
Have you read anything we have
written about this subject lately?
Good Grief…Moorlach has asked
him to resign…we have asked him
to resign…and everyone that
had endorsed him has taken their
endorsements back…Norby and
Campbell for example….so who
is left that is supporting him
that is in the power structure
of the OCGOP…Scott Baugh?
Don’t think so……….call him
tomorrow and ask!
Ron and Anna,
That is not the issue at hand, with all due respect. The issue is that the GOP machine KNEW this guy was a creep and they forced him on us anyway. Now they owe us an apology.
Flowerszzz,
Take another look at my post. Might want to try the bifocals.
1. Fuentes – former OC GOP chair
2. Silva – OC GOP machine darling – hired the former Exec Director of the OC GOP. Connect the dots.
3. The rest of the Reeps listed are all stalwart conservatives with great influence in the OC GOP.
Face it florecita, your party machine screwed the pooch this time. I can hardly wait to see the OC Dems take advantage of that. If they can stop protesting at Loretta’s office long enough to do something useful for a change.
And I have read the stories about it on the OC Blog and I think you need to check you reading glasses….they seem to be against Street. The only one that seems to be frothing is you blogging buddy larry. Again another exaggeration and false statement from you.
Good thing “King Arturo” is not in charge or else we’d have people hanging from every tree in the county based on his whims with due process be damned.
Uhhhh hellooo??? Regardless of anyone’s take on Street at this moment, everything is in the allegation stage and no criminal wrong doing has been proven yet.
Let’s see what happens first before we toss a rope over a branch. Take a chill pill.
Regarding the wackos protesting in front of Sanchez’s office, by the looks of the photo in the OCR, those people NEED a hunger strike for about two weeks…
Flowerszzz,
Of course they are against Street. Now. It takes no moral courage to slam him now.
Where were they when he was getting elected?
That is the question.
By aligning themselves against him now they are trying to avoid the blame that is rightfully theirs.
That is the point of my post.
The OC GOP machine created Street and now they are trying to disavow him. But they can’t. The record shows that this was their guy. Now he is not. And we the people got stuck holding the bag.
An apology is certainly in order.
Norby, Campbell, and Rackauckas yanked their endorsements BEFORE the election but AFTER it was too late to change the ballot statement.
The OC Democratic Party will not ask the OCGOP to apologize because the OCGOP machine is no more responsible for Chriss Street than the OC Democratic machine is responsible for Tom Umberg.
LMAO Art – by your own logic then YOU will owe all of us an apology if Janet either abstains or votes no on taking Streets investing authority away.
oc native,
I caught that too. Interesting timing.
I don’t know however how you can argue the second point. The evidence is overwhelming that Street was indeed promoted by OC GOP stalwarts. Yes, the OC GOP Central Committee did not endorse, but the movers and shakers of the OC GOP did.
And now we are stuck with this guy. An apology is certainly in order, and the Democrats ought to be sticking it to the Reeps on this one.
Have you forgotten how the Reeps crowed about the OC bankruptcy being the Democrats’ fault because Bob Citron was a Democrat – even though all the Supervisors at the time were Reeps?
flowerszzz,
Give me a break. Janet has done NOTHING even remotely as bad as what Street is charged with.
Furthermore, if all the crimes committed by the Van Tran cartel ever came to light, would you be apologizing for the lot of them?
Did you apologize when Tran’s wife was indicted for insurance fraud and pretending to be a lawyer? Why do you think the GOP dumped him as a candidate for the 34th Senate District?
Good morning Flowerszzz.
As I cannot find any comments from you on my post of the OCEA Press Conference let me ask you to point out where I am “frothing” as you stated above. Were you at the event yesterday? Have you read my prior comments about Chris Street? I will gladly debate anyone on my positions be it one of my posts or my comments on others.
I await your grievance.
Have a great day. Larry
OK….we will try again! Art,
our initial comment was intended
to illustrate that when you in
fact “endorse” someone…you look
at their track record…the best
you can…and your personal relationship…the best you can..
and then look at the opposition.
In this case, Moorlach had “hand
chosen” Street. We supported both
Moorlach and Street….because
“of what we knew of him”…and
joined those that endorsed him
“en toto”. Ok, then the Fruehauf
stuff was coming out..and everyone
more or less considered that just
“political pot shotting”. At any
rate, then comes all the “office
expenses exaggerations” and we
thought: “Maybe he was just led
astray!”..It’s called still giving
him “the benefit of the doubt”.
Then the Brett Barberie issue….
then…then…then Moorlach asks
the guy to resign. Then we asked
that the guy resign. Then, then..
so to answer you correctly: NO
the GOP hierarchy…(whoever you
determine)…does not owe anyone
an apology. If anyone should
apologize..it should be Moorlach
..who “so-called” led us astray!
So, back to where we started:
Those that backed Congressman
William Jefferson in Louisiana
probably didn’t think he was going
to take bribes or stuff $100,000
in drug money into his freezer!
Should those that supported and
endorsed him..now apologize?
Larry – I did not say you were frothing…Art did. The link in the first sentance of this post links directly to your comments on OC blog. I assumed he meant you because I could see no one frothing about anything anywhere on the blog.
Art – No one did anything near what Street has done….however if Janet does not support taking away his investment authority then she is supporting him…there for you will owe us an apology.
As to tran…..yes i wrote a letter to him denouncing his wife.
It seems all the OC GOP darlings are compromised in one way or another.
You forgot to mention former Fullerton councilmember Leland Wilson, who refused to pay his own property taxes and filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying it. The GOP stood by him as their darling anyways and attacked Democrats Pam Keller and Doug Chafee relentlessly, making up outright lies to protect the crimes of Leland Wilson.
Flowerszzz, do you believe it is better to have an unethical Republican like Leland Wilson or an ethical Democrat like Pam Keller. As a Republican, I would pick an ethical Democrat anyday. What say you on the GOP’s endless support of Wilson, a known tax evader.
This albatross should hang around Mr. Moorlach’s neck and his neck alone. He is the one responsible for Street being in the position and he should be the one responsible for removing him. Simply calling on him to resign is not enough. Moorlach should be leading the recall effort.
Flowerzzz.
Having just looked at the link and re-reading my comment I do not see any clue as to my “frothing.”
That said, I will now move on and allow others to add their comments to this high profile OC story.
Thanks for your reply. Larry
One thing is apparent – anyone looking for a professional mentor and coach should not turn to John Moorlach for such help. Street is John’s legacy – not good.
Larry – I NEVER SAID YOU WERE FROTHING…..Art did
– here is that he said….
“The Republicans over at Red County/OC Blog are frothing at the mouth over the impending recall of Orange County Treasurer Chriss Street. How soon they forget! Their machine foisted this guy on us.” And linked to YOUR comment directly. I was disagreeing with Art, that you or anyone was NOT frothing.
Truth – where in my post did you get that I would rather have an unethical rep then an ethical Dem? I am not an insider to the party. I have many friends, R & D alike I do not care about the party it is the person and what they stand for.
AND I still expect an apology from Art when Janet votes no or to abstain on the BOS vote against Street. If she does anything but vote to take his investment power right now…..it is the same as supporting him!
Th voters of Orange County knew about as much about Street as anyone did. The Fruehauf trailer story was covered in the Register and the Times. It was about the only topic in media coverage of that race.
And yet the voters elected Mr. Street, anyway.
Nobody is responsible for Street’s actions except Chriss Street. And no one is responsible for Street being elected except OC voters.
I agree with posters #17 & 31.
Art Pedroza should resign in disgrace! He has desgraced himself, this blog, Santa Ana, Orange County, the State of California and the Constitution of the United States.
Bad Art. Resign now!!!
