The California GOP is broke

I came across an interesting column by Raoul Lowery Contreras that sheds some light on what has happened to the California Republican Party in the wake of the disastrous mistakes made by their Chairman, Ron Nehring. I don’t normally reproduce entire columns here, but this one is worth it. You can see it as it originally appeared at this link.

The California Republican Party is broke.

Seven months before the California Republican Presidential Primary election, sixteen months before the 2008 Presidential general election, the California Republican Party is broke and owes $4,000,000 in a single loan repayment that should have been paid weeks ago.

It barely has enough funds to pay rent and payroll expenses.

Reporter Carla Marinucci of the San Francisco Chronicle published my prediction that Big Money Republicans would not contribute to the Party — has come true. Why, because of the scandal generated by State GOP Chairman Ron Nehring
