Why is it considered to not be a crime when you enter a country without permission of that country and stay there? When the laws of that country say there is a process to immigrate that is to be followed, and you immigrate in a way that ignores/circumvents those laws, isn’t that lawbreaking a criminal act? Wearing a shirt or carrying a sign that states we are not criminals in such a circumstanc seems a little hypocritical —-
This is a positive and worthwhile
conference. It’s reassuring to see differing faiths come together on this very important topic.
The Minutemen Project and others, such as #1, are doing their best to dehumanize the undocumented Mexican immigrant. Thanks to Bishop Soto and the Harbor Christian Fellowship for honoring the dignity of all. No one is illegal. We are all God’s children.
Anon #2 – they are illegal mexican immigrants, undocumented is your liberal way of softening the fact that they broke the law, and know they broke the law to come here. No. 2- what a truck load of rhetoric that is! Charles Manson is God’s child – should we not have imprisioned him for life due to lawbreaking? Give me a break – Church leaders would better focus on the children – many of whom are now adults – who were violated by molestors hiding behind Church doors and what is owed to them – rather than whipping up the masses to instill a sense of entitlement while also enjoying a bit of self-promotion. It borders on promoting anarchy.
