I greatly enjoyed watching last night’s Academy Awards – but Ryan Gene won our award pool. He beat me by one award! I did guess correctly on the Best Movie, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress.
The Al Gore love fest was a bit hard to take. How’s this for hypocrisy – he cries about global warming to a crowd full of applauding people who are driven around in gas-guzzling limos, are flown in private jets, live in massive mansions that waste electricity and natural gas – and every time they blow something up in a movie they release incredible amounts of hydrocarbons. Talk about your “Inconvenient Truth!” And that Gore outfit was just disgusting! (See picture above).
I also thought that while Ellen De Generes was funny at times, she was obviously told to kiss the derri
Who does your graphics for you, Trung Nguyen?
Seriously Art, WTF?
Do you really think this is funny?
That picture is disgusting. You’ve lost one reader.
I love the photo! Politicos have been the subject of such cartoons and jokes for hundreds of years and their supporters always get angry. Way to go! Maybe O.J. needs a full time cut and paste Trung style artist doing these cartoons every day!
Art,
Did you know that Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom are just a few of the actors who are building completely green homes? And many drive Priuses.
The idea that all stars consume in excess is an old thought. Many are doing more to save our planet than most of us will ever near.
And we all should be thanking Al Gore for bringing awareness to the world. Why would you condemn what is good?
Mary
Art,
You have disappointed a lot of us who had respect for your perspectives in the offensive picture you posted.
AL GORE WAS ELECTED AND HE WILL BE REELECTED if he can be persauded to AGAIN run for President of The US.
RE: #4
Art, by nature, is a rabble-rouser.
The better question to ask is just where did Art get the lower part of the picture. From his personal collection? Or from one of those internet pay sites? Mmmm…?
Either way, it’s pretty sad.
Poster 6,
I guess we should consider the rabble roused!
For the record, I did not create the funky Gore image. I found it on google.com.
I think we all need to relax a bit and learn not to take politics so seriously.
Besides Mary, nobody even tried to refute what I wrote. Mary at least referenced a few green actors – but believe me they are the exception, not the rule. When it comes to Hollywood, it is “Do as I say, not as I do.”
Art says:
“It was a great night to be a foreigner, particularly for those of us of Mexican heritage.”
Insert “white” instead of “Mexican” and you would be called a hateful racist for the rest of your life. Can you say “double standard”?
The fact that you described yourself as offering “commentary from the right” on this website until about a week ago is pretty much the funniest thing I have observed in my entire life.
Poster 8,
The difference is that people like you spend a lot of time bashing Mexicans. Last night we saw that Mexicans are indeed capable of great things. We are not the pack animals that you and your ilk imagine us to be.
As for the comment you referenced, in truth I thought I had changed it earlier, but I failed to realize that I had to change our web template. It is nice to not have to worry about right and left anymore.
Art –
You are truly sad. You must have HUGE insecurity issues if you are just now realizing “last night we saw that Mexicans are indeed capable of great things”. I have known that forever. Are you just now realizing it?
Main difference between you and me is that I judge people by the content of their character. You judge people by the color of their skin.
