What:Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (CA-46) in an effort to turn up the pressure on President Bush to pardon Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean will be joined by convicted agent Jose Compean and family to announce a petition signed by over 140,000 Americans supporting their commutation. This event is another attempt in a series of efforts by Rep. Rohrabacher and other members of Congress to convince President Bush to do the right thing and pardon these unjustly convicted agents. Rep. Rohrabacher recently sent a letter to the president, signed by over 50 congressmen demanding his intervention. Mr. Compean’s sister is a constituent and resident of Huntingdon Beach, CA.

Looks like these agents were convicted in a US court by a 12 member jury, convicted on 11 of 12 counts.
this press release reads like they were railroaded.
They may have to wait until Bush’s last day in office for their pardon.
Kudos to Congressman Rohrabacher. These border agents deserved a lot better from the Bush Admin.
