From Kindergarten Cop to King

I previously posted a report of the governor and the Mayor of Oakland each seeking major donations from corporations for their coronation’s.

Today’s LA Times (Sunday Dec 3) has a follow up story “Fundraising beat goes on for gov.” where they name major firms who are being asked to participate. That list includes Chevron Corp.,PG&E, AT&T and Blue Cross of CA. It’s all about me. While many Californians cut coupons to save a few cents on their weekly shopping our newly elected Governor sets the example of being a “fiscal conservative?”

Yes, these corporations have deep enough pockets to each kick in $50,000 but this smells of “pay to play.” If you want to attend one of my posh events it will cost you.

I would be curious to hear your input.
