I am hearing that failed Pulido puppet Tino Rivera is in line to be appointed to outgoing SAUSD school board member Sal Tinajero’s seat, as board member Rob Richardson is apparently promoting him to the rest of the board. Rosie Avila figures to go along – as she backed Rivera for Ward 2, and I think that Dr. Audrey Noji will also back him, given her own alliance with Pulido. That is not good news for the rest of us.
Rivera is an empty suit – surely we can do better? I am also hearing that Armando de la Libertad is throwing a fundraiser tomorrow night for the victorious Santa Ana City Council candidates in order to build support for his own attempt at Tinajero’s seat. However, it sure looks like Rivera has the votes to get his way. You have to believe that Rivera is being advanced so that he can move up politically in a city that brutally rejected him last week.
It also looks like a recall of board member Rosie Avila is brewing. That could get interesting…
Santa Ana voters rejected Rivera for city council less than 10 days ago. School board members Richardson, Noji and Avila should be mindful of that fact.
Pulido’s meddling in SAUSD matters needs to stop; this is not LAUSD. Residents need to ask why the Pulido machine is eager to hand over plum positions to Rivera. And what’s in it for Pulido & Richardson?
SAUSD has created a Community Advisory Panel for its superintendent search. Each board member named one representative:
Avila named Jennifer Charles
Noji named Rueben Martinez
Palacio named Jo Ann Ramirez
Richardson named Bertha Rivera
Tinajero names Richard Tran
Other members of the panel:
Special Education (CAC) named Indira Gatlin-Royster
SAEA named DAvid Barton
SASAA named Anita Foley
CSEA named Patty Arias
DAC named Victoria Zaragoza
PRA named No One.
Most the the panel should do a good job but there is one name that is troublesome – Jo Ann Ramirez.
Didn’t she lead the recall effort – or was she the mole for Nativo and Palacio? Intersting coincidence that Palacio named her as HIS representative! Is this quid pro quo for keeping Palacios name out of the blogs and being a good ole mole?
Im all for community being on the superintendent search but Jo Ann Ramirez is not the right person. I heard she had to resign from the Historical Society because she made enemies and the rumor in SA is that she leaves havoc in her path.
What makes her qualified to sit on this panel?
Anon#2: It seems strange you are singling out Ms. Ramirez. Jo Ann Ramirez has demonstrated dedication to improving government in Santa Ana and she has held a special focus on the welfare of children. If there were more people like Jo Ann Ramirez, then our city wouldn
