Write-in candidate for the November 2006 election must file with the Registrar of Voters by Tuesday Oct 24th.
As of 9 a.m. this morning the latest to file was Mission Viejo resident F.K. Holtzman who is running for a seat on the Santa Margarita Water District Board. Another recent write-in entry was filed by Rosemarie Avila of Santa Ana who is seeking the office of U.S. Representative, 47th CD. This is the same seat that has created a lot of traffic on the blog caused by a controversial mailer from Republican candidate Tan Nguyen.
Other write-in applicants include: Otto Bade from Santa Ana who is running for 34th State Senate, Eddie Rose of Laguna Niguel who is running for Board of Supervisors 5th District, Michael M. Afzal from the city of Fullerton who is running for the Fullerton City Council, Frank Tran of Westminster, who is running for a seat on the Westminster School District and Will B. King from Santa Ana. Will is running for the governor’s seat in Sacramento.
Larry Gilbert, just back from the Registrar’s office.
So that explains the Eddie Rose signs. I had been wondering if he was a write in candidate. His web site did not have instructions for people on writing in a name using the electonic voting system.
So after the Republican voters rejected Rosie for her bid, now she feels the voters will find her more acceptable?
Does she feel she would now be the candidate since Tan Nguyen has shamed the Republican Party?
I think the Republicans should just concede the 47th and cut their losses.
Larry,
You tried to push a write-in vote for F.K. Holtzman on the Frank Ury blog and that post disappeared.
Why?
What part of filing deadline did Holtzman miss? Why is he a write-in candidate and not a regular candidate?
Anonymous.
As I have not spoken to Frank Ury since our Walk Against Drugs on Sat, perhaps you might ask him your question directly. My focus is to provide news to this blog on current events and races.
