Assemblyman Tom Umberg appeared at a Breast Cancer Awareness event put on by Assemblywoman Lynn Daucher’s office this weekend. I am told that he played a prominent role at that event. I wonder what we are to make of that? Is it time to add Umberg to the “Democrats for Daucher” list?
Daucher is a survivor of breast cancer – which provides her with a unique and personal outlook on health care. Correa likes to talk about health care, and I believe his wife is a doctor, but his background is in real estate, not medicine, and to my knowledge he has not gone through an episode as harrowing as Daucher’s.
Even worse, Correa seems to be preoccupied with spending tax money to give free health care to illegal immigrants. What about our own citizenry Lou? Should we send them to Mexico and ask their government to pay for Americans’ health care? If we spend millions of dollars subsidizing the healthcare of the undocumented, will there be enough money left to take care of our seniors? Is Correa at all cognizant of the unintended consequences of his irresponsible “Hillary care” proposals?
The breast cancer event included several notable sponsors, including:
- Susan G Komen
- CalOptima
- Y-ME
- OC Korean American Health Information & Education Center
- Anaheim Fire Department
- Anaheim Firefighters Association
- Ralphs Grocery
- DanceSport California
- Fiesta Fantastic Ent.
- Avon
I also heard that Umberg was seated next to Lou Correa at the Truman Dinner this weekend. Awkward! Apparently they don’t get along. My sources tell me that State Senator Joe Dunn is also none to fond of Correa.
The John & Ken clip that I included in an earlier post this week serves to remind us that Correa has a dark side that Daucher does not share. Is that the type of person we want to send to Sacramento to represent the 34th Senate District?
Say what you will about Daucher – but she is the epitome of class and grace, and she embodies professionalism. I can’t see her getting into a shouting match with anyone. That is not to say that she is not tough – anyone who survives cancer is made of stern stuff – but she does not have to raise her voice or be rude to get her point across. No wonder so many Democrats are starting to gravitate in her direction. Correa’s shenanigans have gone on long enough! Time for some anger management…
Art you said:
“Correa likes to talk about health care, and I believe his wife is a doctor, but his background is in real estate, not medicine..”
That’s not true Art! Why just this past Friday afternoon I saw Can Do Lou leaving a ground breaking for St. Joseph’s Hospital. Lou cares about healthcare (and the rich Doctors and Medical PAC’s that give big money to Politico’s like Lou)
Art,
When did support for Breast Cancer awareness and prevention become a partisan issue?
Just because Daucher
Art
“Even worse, Correa seems to be preoccupied with spending tax money to give free health care to illegal immigrants.”
I really thought Art knew issues before he commmented on them.
Art needs to ask his fellow anti-Lynn Daucher candidate, social worker Lupe Moreno if the Orange County Social Services agency provides illegals healthcare. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this fact. There is no relationship at all with any healthcare benefits from the county going to illegals.
Then, Art needs to stop misrepresenting Daucher’s stances on this year’s propositions, Lynn’s record and Lynn’s beliefs.
Am the only one to read him write “I believe Mrs. Dauchers supports this…” with his “that’s why I support her” only to find out later that Art misrepresented her position.
If anybody ever talked in person with Art about Lou Correa they would believe that Art knows as much as anyone about Lou Correa.
But now Art spills out “I think he wife is a doctor”, ” he was a realtor”, and/or “I think he supports” this or that.
Art may be fooling some people with his recently elected Republican central commmitee stance but those are the dimwits who know no better.
Chris,
I did not say it was a partisan issue. I just found it odd that Umberg involved himself in a Daucher event. Read into it what you will. To me it is perhaps a hint as to what he really thinks of Lou.
10:56,
I did not say that illegals are getting health benefits now – what I said is that Lou has been pushing for them to get health benefits. That is a matter of public record.
As for Lynn’s positions, I encourage you to visit her websites. Or read the papers. If I recall correctly, she is backing Prop. 90 but Ackerman is not. Whether or not Lou supports it does not matter. We all know he takes positons by sticking his finger in the air…
Umberg and Correa were NOT seated together at the Truman Dinner. Tom was one of the presenters and was on the dais. Lou sat in the audience.
Your source is lousy.
Art, you should have been a lawyer because you fling the bull sh** better than most. You have a very bad tendency to “fill in the blanks” on your own without first stopping to think whether what you write is either true or will it hurt somebody. You really need to stop making things up to support your points or position. It looks really bad to those of us with half a brain. Imagine what the full brain people think about some of your comments.
Once again Art makes PREPOSTEROUS statements to atttempt to drive traffic to this blog and increase the number of comments on his INFLAMMATORY posts.
First, he makes claims about both candidates’ legislative positions and priorities without providing any sort of evidence.
Second, Art continues to claim that Lou’s background is in real estate when he has been corrected on that point in previous posts. Before being elected, Lou was an attorney and investment banker.
Finally, and most importantly, he makes the claim that because “he has not gone through an episode as harrowing as Daucher’s” Correa is less of an expert on health care policy. Do you have access to Lou’s medical records, Art? Those of his wife? His kids? Even if Lou has been lucky enough to avoid major health issues to this point, I would guess that he has had to deal with an aging parent or a close relative with a life-threatening illness.
How DARE you continue to use this forum to spread your lies and misrepresentations, Art. You should be ashamed of yourself!
Art…Keep it up! You and Claudio and Gila seem to have struck nerves on the right and the left! Isn’t that the idea? As to this quote:
“Art continues to claim that Lou’s background is in real estate when he has been corrected on that point in previous posts. Before being elected, Lou was an attorney and investment banker.
ea of this blog?”
Show me any work done as an attorney or Investment banker by Lou..ever. He was living off his Doctor wife (nice gig if you can get it)and trying to hook a Gov. Political deal, which he did. Show me the money Anon!
Does Tom Umberg know where Carol Rudat really lives?
Gila,
I looked up at the dais and Tom WAS seated next to Lou, albeit temporarily. I did not have say so on head table arrangements.
