Our amigo from the OC Weekly, Gustavo Arellano, forwarded me the following post, regarding the crackdown on junk food over at City Hall in Santa Ana. The shocker for me was finding out that both Santa Ana Mayor Miguel “El Rey” Pulido and his amigito, Council Member Jose Solorio, are vegetarians. Who knew? They’re going to lose their membership in La Raza if they keep this up! How can you be Mexican-American and not eat Carne Asada, Tamales, Pollo con Arroz, Enchiladas de Pollo, etc? Now we know what’s wrong with these guys! What do you want to bet that exiled Council Member Mike Garcia, by comparison, knows his way around a Ceviche Tostada or a bowl of Menudo?
Here’s Gustavo’s post: As everyone knows, many Mexicans are fat and nowhere is this more evident than SanTana, which according to the California Center for Public Health Advocacy, has some of the most obese people in the state. Fighting the good fight against fat is the bad-ass non-profit, Latino Health Access, but they
Cruz Bustamante should hit town any minute once he gets wind of this….
So now I know that if you do not publish my comment I am cutting close to the bone.
This measure is a great thing for Santa Ana!
Dear Stanley and Michael:
I deleted your postings because they were totally unrelated to the topic.
There was nothing wrong with what either of you said, but please Stanely, make your comments relevant to the issue. Otherwise we get a string of unrelated comments which deters others from making comments germain to the topic of the post.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us improve this Blog.
Semper Fi,
Tim
Art stated: “Stanley,Your latests posts have been very good. Thanks for cleaning up your act. I am going to allow full posting again on my site and I beg you to please keep it clean. Otherwise we will have to go back to moderating each post. Thanks,”
So why did you remove it?
The topic’s relativity is in the eye of the beholder.
Tim, obviously you are wrong because my first post was definitely related. So since you have erased even my first post you have an agenda. In addition I was under the impression that comments on Art’s article are not your business to remove therefore you are acting beyond the scope of your duty. You are violating your own rules.
Gustavo frequently points out the veggie options in his restaurant reviews. A more-or-less vegetarian (and Latino!) says THANKS!!! I’m waiting for a Veg-Mex restaurant (like the famous Pokez in San Diego) to come to town
Stanley:
I read your postings. They had nothing to do with the topic of Pulido & Solorio being vegetarians.
My only agenda is to improve the Blog. Your first posting was about your 20% theory which we’ve read all over the blog at least a dozen times. No disrespect towards your well-supported argument, but it and the responses it invoked had nothing to do with the topic.
Sorry if you don’t like my decision. Feel free to start your own Blog. It really is very easy. DO NOT respond to my posting, I will delete them.
With all due respect,
Tim
Tim, you are wrong again,
My first post started that it (meaning his vegetarianism) is another reason why Pulido should be the Mayor, and than I vent on explaining further. Your constant reminder that I should start my blog is hostile and offensive language.
“Your constant reminder that I should start my blog is hostile and offensive language.”
All the more reason to start your own blog, Stanley.
Stanley Fiala could you please go outside and play in the street.
The UFW’s Cesar Chavez was a vegetarian.
I made dinner for him once.
Tim stated: “I deleted your postings because they were totally unrelated to the topic.”
Look how many more unrelated postings you have created by your irresponsible act.
It is like dropping a cube of sugar into the moron’s nest.
I was under the impression that you were suppose to post some “juicy” articles so we can comment.
Anybody can delete only some can write.
