About Admin
"Admin" is just editors Vern Nelson, Greg Diamond, or Ryan Cantor sharing something that they mostly didn't write themselves, but think you should see. Before December 2010, "Admin" may have been former blog owner Art Pedroza.
Was I the only one who saw Audrey Yamagata-Noji and Claudia Alvarez sitting round the table chatting it up for hours on end last weekend at the Wilshire Square neighborhood concert?
Do they have any reservations at all about Jo Ellen Allen serving on the boards of SAEF AND The High School for Performing arts, considering her lack of financial integrity of the past?
For the record, my participation in these debates should not be construed as an endorsement of SAEF. I’m just going to be there to observe the debates and write about them later in this blog.
Why the hold up on filing a tax return for SAEF for the past two years?

I think a great question to ask would be, If you were a trustee and you knew that a gross environmental polluter like the half demolished asbestos pit owned by Mike Harrah / Caribou Ind at 1001 N Broadway, mere feet from The High School for Performing arts or the chrome plating factory owned by Markland across the street from Kennedy that allegedly illegally dumped known human carcinogens, what would be your response?
My other question would be, What will you do to ensure that all schools, even charters, comply with the Field Act and ensure safe places for kids that meet some semblance of earthquake standards.

Subject: Graduation Waivers
Speaking on behalf of members of the staff of Saddleback High School, we are deeply concerned about the granting of graduation requirement waivers by our school site administrator, Esther Jones. It has come to our attention, from a reliable source, that she was directed by Dr. Lewis Bratcher to take whatever means necessary to increase the graduation rate at Saddleback High School.
Mrs. Jones granted waivers to course requirements for 30 seniors and allowed them to gain their diploma in direct violation of Board Policy. In addition, 15 of those seniors, due to waived course requirements, did not achieve the mandatory 240 credit requirement directed by Board policy as well.
This situition occurred last year if you will recall, and we, were given to understand thatcorrective action was taken and this type of situation would not occur again. This type of action is not only illegal but also unethical. The diplomas that are given out to graduating seniors, who legiti-mately achieved passing scores and attained credit requirements, lose validity and value. These waivers also usurp the final decision making authority of the teacher. Our fellow teachers have already sited examples of underclassmen saying things such as
How about all that nepotism at Valley HS. Espinosa has his brothers working under him.
Speaking of nepotism. check out the independent studies school. There’s woman supervisor who supervises her teacher husband who doesn’t make it school until 10 AM. What a job!
Question: Richardson & Noji rang the ethics bell after the recall. Why have they refused to enforce this policy?
I agree, but we also need someone competent, I do not mean Cecilia.
She might have the heart in the right place, but it will take more than that.
We need someone who can make tough decisions, remember Cecilia works for the district.
she is the chief of police community liaison, you can not tell me that she does or did not know the chief’s extra curricular activities when everyone else knows.

She needs to make it clear, over and over again!
Will she come forward, like Mijares did against NL and pledge that she will rid sausd of this type of scum!
She goes public, she will be on the board come NOVEMBER!
It is not Aguinaga’s duty or responsibility, as an SAUSD employee or candidate, to call out any SAUSD employee for improprities.
You must remember Mijares only “came forward” because he was assured by Richardson’s campaign folks (Dennis DeSnoo) that Richardson had the election in the bag.. Mijares overstepped ethical boundaries by blending politics and work at the expense of the taxpayer.
Mijares showed us what he was made and it’s spelled C-O-W-A-R-D.

It seems that birds of a feather flock together.
I can’t connect the dots, what is with the Allen bashing and how does that link with the “meet the candidates forums”
Is Allen one of the candidates?

Can anyone tell us who is running for School Board. Maybe a link?
Audrey Noji has been parked too long in the SAUSD trustee stall. Sixteen years is enough.
Question: Should there be term limits for SAUSD board members?
Link to SAUSD School Board Race
http://www.oc.ca.gov/election/
Then go to “General Election November 7, 2006”
Then go to “Candidate Log for School and Special Districts”
SAUSD starts on page 15.

1. If the candidate was made aware of an administrator/school site that had a very high level of union grievances, what steps would they take, if any?
2. Are there any ethical practices at SAUSD that need to be addressed immediately?
3. What is the candidate’s philosophy regarding special needs students?

Not interested in splitting hairs, however Miyashiro is an employee of SAUSD.
It is not Ms. Aguinanga’s responsibility to publicly expose
“problems” within her department.
It is the duty and responsibility of Mr. Miyrashiro’s supervisor to take such action.
Every business has an organizational chart and I’m certain Mr. Miyrashiro is NOT a subordinate of Ms. Aguinanga’s.
Either way!
How can she be trusted as a School Board Member if she is not willing to expose the wrong doings!
Either you fix the problems or you become them!
