Register corrects the record about Moreno’s fundraising
Kudos to my friend Martin Wisckol, at the OC Register. He called me late yesterday in an attempt to find out how much Lupe Moreno, the conservative candidate for the 34th Senate District, has raised thus far. Her campaign report was filed in Sacramento but not in the OC, due to a misunderstanding by Moreno’s treasurer ( a volunteer who has been a huge help on the campaign). No harm, no foul, as the record was faxed to the OC Voter Registrar, but too late for the recent Register article that recapped the action thus far in the race for the 34th. The Register has updated their web version of the article, and published a correction in today’s paper, reflecting the fact that Moreno has raised $11,062.52, including a loan of $5,218.54.
RINO Lynn Daucher, the liberal Republican vying for the 34th, has raised over $500,000, but she has spent most of it in the primary, even going as far as to mail to Democrat voters, and as such the till will be dry in the general, should she get that far. OC Supervisor Lou Correa, the Democrat who is likely to win the primary, should have no problem raising more money than Daucher in the general.
A picture’s worth a thousand words, however you only need two to describe the photo of Lupe “Mintewoman” Moreno in yesterday’s Register. The photo appears to look like that of a “convicted felon.”
Where is Lupe’s “real” campaign manager?
I believe you mean the “well” will be dry Art
or the till will be empty
3:53,
You’re both right! There I go mixing up my analogies again. Oh well – the point is that Daucher has enriched her consultants in the primary by spending herself silly. Will there be more money available in the general? The Republicans for a New Majority are loaded, but will they still think that Daucher is a good investment come the general? The captains of industry may just settle for Correa. This could actually be a decent way to end Daucher’s political career. And maybe Ackerman’s too…
Ackerman’s too, if we’re lucky.
so it is probably going to be a RINO vs a DINO, eh? That will make for a lot pof cross over votes
