Is Carona dense?
I just don’t understand the workings of O.C. Sheriff Mike Carona’s brain. He just does not seem to learn from his mistakes. The Times is reporting today that Carona has been pushing for a change in state law that would give sheriffs and police chiefs “more leeway in giving badges to civilian volunteers who have no police powers.” This despite the fact that many of Carona’s cronies have misused their badges and reserve office status. Strangely enough, you will find that most of the guys Carona gives reserve status to are his contributors. How’s that for qualifications?
Memo to Carona: only cops should have badges. Name tags are good enough for the rest of us – particularly in this era of global terrorism.
