Costa Mesa moves to protect churches
I have enclosed below an interesting press release from the Pacific Justice Institute. They got involved recently in assisting the City of Costa Mesa when actions taken by the ACLU resulted in a zoning ordinance proposal that could have had a very negative affect on churches in Costa Mesa. It is worth noting that the Costa Mesa council member who got the Pacific Justice Institute involved is Allan Mansoor, a staunch Republican who also works for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
PJI Assists Costa Mesa in Adopting Church Friendly Ordinance
Costa Mesa, CA – The Pacific Justice Institute had an opportunity this week to work with members of the Costa Mesa City Council to change a proposed zoning ordinance that could have had an extremely adverse affect on local churches.
In 2003, the ACLU sued the Costa Mesa City Council over their procedures for approving special events and rally permits. As a result of the lawsuit, the Council was forced to revise their ordinance dealing with special event permits.
