Coronado mailer arrives
Dr. Alexandria Coronado’s primary campaign for the 47th Congressional District announced itself today with a full color mailer that arrived in mail boxes throughout the district. The mailer references Coronado’s numerous endorsements, including those of Congressman Ed Royce, and curiously primary combatants Ken Maddox and John Campbell. (I guess Coronado won’t be endorsing either of them!). Santa Ana School Board Member Rosie Avila is Coronado’s only Santa Ana area endorser. She is also endorsed by Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (that makes sense as there is no love lost between Coronado’s father, Chuck, and former Congressman Bob Dornan – they ran against each other a few years ago and now Dornan is running against Coronado ally Rohrabacher).
Coronado’s primary opponent is Virgel Nickell. Neither candidate offers any Spanish language on their flyers, even though 90% of the residents in Santa Ana are Latino, and many fo them are monolingual. Also, Coronado’s flyer touts her website, but Nickell’s mailer, which preceded Coronado’s by a few days, does not mention either a web site or an email address.
