The police were not calling for backup. There was a 9-1-1 call placed by a resident that Kelly Phillips was harassing Joey Acevedo's mother and the response was more cops, more cop cars and officers treating citizens using freedom of speech as their only recourse to what was happening as though the residents were a "hostile crowd." After the police - at least 7 cars - began to leave the area, some children threw eggs. You can hear this on the video. Compared to shooting people in the back for driving "suspiciously slowly" and smashing their skull so their brain matter is left behind on concrete for children to see on their way to school in the morning, I'd say a few eggs - though not condoned - is not the "root" of any problem and therefore you cannot dig for any other "roots" such as absent fathers or impoverished mothers - the "root" - the "infestation" - the "manifestation of the disease" so to speak - is the initiator of the violence a.k.a. KELLY PHILLIPS.

No, the residents started throwing shit at the cops AFTER the word got out that they'd been picking on Donna, who is beloved and respected in the neighborhood. Nobody remembers that happening there before. And it started after Donna left, she didn't see it. The various witnesses who told me the story mentioned a bit of egg throwing, but it didn't seem like a big enough deal to put in the story at the time. Not compared to the police harassment of Donna and the police desecration of the memorial.

Let's see. I'll respond to SOME of the rest of this BS. Where were the fathers? They were there, a lot of them. Plenty of fathers, protesting along with the mothers and the kids. Joel's father in particular? He was deported years ago, sadly, a victim of our screwed-up immigration system and Anaheim's draconian policies - deported after a minor traffic stop. (He wasn't born in this country as Donna was.)

In point of fact Joey was not stealing a car. In point of fact Joey was not shooting at officers. But you just go ahead and believe anything that killing cops say, and embroider it while you're at it. You don't deserve to know any more about Joey.

"some of our animosities" and to whom do these "animosities" belong and whilst being "set aside" when do you get to pick them up again? I can "set aside differences" but that means I still HAVE those differences! So, "we" get to keep our "animosities" - what the hell is Mr. Kennedy talking about!???

No question about it... once Caltrans sees that Orange County residents don't want their carpool lanes tolled, they will back down with their tail between their legs. There is no way those Sacramento politicians will want to upset the voters in Orange County but tolling our carpool lanes down here.

They might be able to do that to the folks in LA, but if Caltrans tries that in OC they won't know what hit them!

That was a better post, including several things that you could and should have said the first time.

(1) Oh, that. I'm old enough to remember that, at the time, we were maintaining the fiction that spent fuel could not be reprocessed into fissile material. This was necessary to maintain our policy of providing nuclear assistance to third world countries (maybe including Pakistan?) that we supposedly did not want to see develop nuclear weapons. It was a national security issue. As for your "fix" -- a glib "post a guard" may have problems that you are not equipped to evaluate.

(2) Because it rarely does happen in contract disputes and the case against Mitsubishi's defective design and/or manufacture is probably not airtight. For example: if the problem is cavitation (small divots) in pipes, perhaps that may be caused by more salt water vapor. Why would there be more salt water vapor now than when SONGS was first designed? Maybe because SONGS itself is heating the water; maybe it's climate change. If Mitsubishi built the materials to SCE's specs, but SCE created its specs based on out of date assumptions about vapor-caused cavitation, then Mitsubishi wouldn't be liable.

By the way, that theory may be entirely and even ludicrously off-base. Mitsubishi will likely have its own exonerating theories -- along with paid experts to back them up. Still wonder why they're not likely to pay 100%?

(3) Now you're just sounding ignorant.

(4A) If you were trying to defend either "highest in the country" or "highest in the world," you failed. If you were only trying to defend "higher than TVA, you may be off to a solid start. Or may not, for all I know.

(4B) I'm not going to defend deregulation and I wasn't here at the time to know its history.

(5) And did Republicans oppose deregulation -- at least on some grounds other than the likes of "it does not go far enough"? If so, good for them. I'd need to see evidence beyond your assertion.

(6) You did to an extent -- with more assertions (but to your credit at least more specific ones.)

(7) How's solar power doing in Germany? Again, you're sounding like a shill rather than someone approaching this issue honestly.

“They started throwing eggs, apples and bottles at the police cars,” Dunn said.

Why leave that part out of the story? Of course police will call for backup when dealing with residents from this neighborhood. All the kids have been taught by their mothers to hate the police. This brings me to another point. Where are all the fathers? That is the root problem for all this. These kids are being raised by gangsters, not parents. The mothers only show up after their kids already fucked up. Didnt Donna realize Joey was heading the wrong way in life when he has gang tattoos on his neck? Where was she then? Why was Joey stealing a car? Why did Joey shoot at officers? Isn't that kind of a big deal?

CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson said:
“I can confirm that an intrusion of my computers has been under some investigation on my end for some months but I’m not prepared to make an allegation against a specific entity today as I’ve been patient and methodical about this matter,” Attkisson said. “I need to check with my attorney and CBS to get their recommendations on info we make public.”

In October 2011, Attkisson revealed to radio host Laura Ingraham she was the victim of a Justice Department’s anger when she was “yelled” and “screamed” at over her coverage of the “Fast and Furious” scandal.

Attkisson’s coverage of “Fast and Furious,” the Benghazi terrorist attacks and other Obama administration scandals has also prompted widespread speculation about a rift between her and her CBS bosses, including CBS News president David Rhodes, whose brother Ben Rhodes is a former fiction writer who is now President Obama’s deputy national security adviser for strategic communication and reportedly took the lead in revising the Benghazi talking points.
