Steve Sheldon’s OC Water District area 5, in purple (the top portion displaced to the left.) What ONE PERSON living will step forward file against this shameless shill at the Registrar of Voters Office in Santa Ana BY 5:00 TODAY?

Gentle readers, it has come to this: we’ve accomplished a lot this week, but we still haven’t covered one of our main goals — finding one AND ONLY ONE person to run against Poseidon-sucking maniac Steve Sheldon in Orange County Water District’s Area 5.

Take a look at that area!  Lot’s of well-educated and well-off who KNOW DAMNED WELL that Orange County should not lie still to let a foreign corporation with lavish lobbyists lock in a decades-long contract that guarantees them huge profits for water that we don’t need — especially at that price!  But there’s only one way to stop it — running against him — and that chance comes only once every four years.  TODAY IS THE DAY TO STOP STEVE SHELDON.  Newport Beachers, Irviners, one (but only one!) of you must step up and take down this clown!

Campaign money, I believe, can be raised.  There’s a whole set now of people who have signed up to oppose a whole set of people who have been part of the present order in which lobbyists rule.  So don’t let that stop you.  If you’re a water engineer, that expertise would be ideal; a water policy background would also be very helpful.  But even if you’re neither — even if all you’ve got to offer is common sense in your head and a lack of larceny in your heart — let us know of your interest.  You can write me at mail2greg4-thejuice AT yahoo DOT com.  (If you can’t figure out how to make that into a real email address, you’re probably not the candidate we need.)

You can office your suggestions for who else from this area you think might make a good candidate as well — especially, perhaps, someone who recently lost a primary election and knows that water policy matters?  (Yes, Hans, I’m talking about you!)  Activate your social networks — we haven’t a moment to waste!

About Greg Diamond

Somewhat verbose worker's rights and government accountability attorney, residing in northwest Brea. General Counsel of CATER, the Coalition of Anaheim Taxpayers for Economic Responsibility, a non-partisan group of people sick of local corruption. Deposed as Northern Vice Chair of DPOC in April 2014 when his anti-corruption and pro-consumer work in Anaheim infuriated the Building Trades and Teamsters in spring 2014, who then worked with the lawless and power-mad DPOC Chair to eliminate his internal oversight. Occasionally runs for office to challenge some nasty incumbent who would otherwise run unopposed. (Someday he might pick a fight with the intent to win rather than just dent someone. You'll know it when you see it.) He got 45% of the vote against Bob Huff for State Senate in 2012 and in 2014 became the first attorney to challenge OCDA Tony Rackauckas since 2002. None of his pre-putsch writings ever spoke for the Democratic Party at the local, county, state, national, or galactic level, nor do they now. A family member co-owns a business offering campaign treasurer services to Democratic candidates and the odd independent. He is very proud of her. He doesn't directly profit from her work and it doesn't affect his coverage. (He does not always favor her clients, though she might hesitate to take one that he truly hated.) He does advise some local campaigns informally and (so far) without compensation. (If that last bit changes, he will declare the interest.)
